Hi I am a bit confused on how to operate the outside power mirrors on my Lariat Lux. Specifically the controls on the door. I belive a button on the climate controls turns on and off heated mirrors and heated wiper park. But the ones on the door seem confusing. I did look in the owners manual with no luck. Thanks

Well, I think the door buttons only control direction.

I have a Lariat Lux as well and i didn't even know we had those other features so yes, the button is hard to find.

On my XLT it is the power window lock out for the rear passengers. Not sure if the Lariat trim has different controls.

Hmm that that seems weird. I wonder why Ford decided to use a different control layout for the Lariat.

On the XLT the two bottom buttons select either the left or right mirror and the button on top is the window lock out like I mentioned above.

I would have thought they would have made them the same across all trim levels to save costs but Ford gonna Ford I guess. lol

Are you guys sure it's different on the Lariat trim? I just checked the owners manual and it also says that the lower left and right buttons are to select the left and right mirror.

At the bottom of the control A is labeled as the left mirror and B is labeled as the right mirror.

I have a Lariat also, and the mirror button controls are exactly as bbhaag said. the two bottom buttons select left or right. The top buttons lock out the rear windows.

Thank you it is not very intuitive for sure. Did not see that page in the owners manual and did not explain the top buttons. Will play with it tomorrow.

The reason the top button aka the rear window lockout button is not explained is because it is a separate function. Is it not related to power mirror control.

In the owners manual the rear window lockout is mentioned on page 102. While it does not show the location it does show a picture. If you look at the picture the button in your Maverick will have the same picture on the button.

If this isn’t very intuitive, what mechanism are you used to using to adjust the mirrors? You simply select left or right and then use the directional pad to your liking.

On the driver door, you have…

Very top: locks out passenger window switches - lights up when selected. Note that the icon is a door with an X through the window
Directional pad to move power mirrors
Left and right mirror selectors - light up when selected. Note that the icons are side mirrors sticking out of their respective side, with directional arrows that tell you it lets you move that mirror
Front row windows
Back row windows

Or, per your manual:

ADJUSTING THE EXTERIOR MIRRORS

Hey go easy man. Not everyone here has an A+ on how vehicles work. We have a lot of older members here on MTC that might not be accustomed to how newer vehicles operate.

For example we had two members in this thread who were not sure about it. @fossil, and @The Weatherman were not sure on how the mirror controls work and just like the OP they have Lariat trims.
