105k on OE, modded at 60k; cvf downpipe, 3 in exhaust, no muff, cvf intercooler, livernois 93 tune, sb intake, both side catch cans, underdrive wp pulley, optimal yellow top, booma spacers(for methanol, not yet added) lowered.
2.3 will be swapped in bone stock to drive while goin thru the 2.0
I will use with the 2.3 head and turbo with a built bottom 2.3 rotating assembly
Brother....I REALLY hope your not going to try and run that 2.3 off that 8 speed tranny in the Maverick. I've had a Livernois 93 tuned 2019 Ranger and there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY that Maverick tranny can take the low end torque of that 2.3 ecobeast. I know you are more than knowledgeable about the engine swap so I'm curious what you will do about the transmission......10 speed swap of the 8 speed maybe? Can't wait to see how this turns out. I know a lot about the capabilities of the 2.3. AWESOME platform......you can safely take it to 350 hp but it seems the folks that start to get above 400 hp start getting the "rod off light". Keep us posted!

I am shocked to hear that. Not even a little curious?
Am am but I have toe young boys and my free time is spent at the road course But yes I’d like to know cause I’m at 1048whp so it should be fast

10 speed swap of the 8 speed maybe
that's definitely not going to happen because the 10 speed is only fitted to longitudinal mounted engines.

however there are several transmissions in the Aisin 8F family that are rated for much more torque. it might be difficult to adapt one complete because of the tcm and interaction between tcm, ecu and other modules. however, it might be feasible to use some internals from the higher spec units in the 8F35 case.

who knows. eventually someone with a reasonable amount of money will find out. :D

As for the transmission. I think he will be fine. But if he’s concerned at all you could use the trq limits per gear till say mid second or 3rd gear like for does for most things including the st, rs.
set your targets for what is known the transmission can take. Tapper in boost and timing in the first few gears and it should be just fine.

my comment before about the tcm are in regards to keeping the Maverick ECU so that you keep all the things it does including infotainment, drive modes, telematics (Fordpass is useful) and even climate control.

there's no way you can use a manual without swapping ECU. you would turn it into a focus RS best case. even with a totaled RS as the donor this would be a massive undertaking with a lot of wiring and fabrication.

I swapped a AOD for a manual on a 92 foxbody, and I think that would be a lot easier than anything today. Added the AL9 computer and some minor wiring changes, poof it was done (added the shifter hump as well). I figured it would be quite an undertaking for these Modern chariots.

yes, they are rolling computers. if it's a factory option it probably can be done relatively easily but since it isn't you either give up major functionality (fine for a racecar but not daily driver) or you turn it into whatever factory vehicle has that powertrain.

several people with a LOT of money have tried to swap a coyote into a sixth gen Bronco and last I checked no one has succeeded yet. they're essentially trying to turn it into a V8 f150.

Just the 2.3 nope.
They are very interchangeable back and forth. Longer stroke and different block. But they play well together.

yep it's all the stuff mentioned in the first post.

and a tune, of course. it might start and idle with the factory map, but you obviously need a new tune.

Wow the site is working for me tonight and uploaded! We'll here is a mass pic dump from the past 2 weeks. Pulled out on a Saturday, spent time thru the week swapping everything but the timing chains and head from the 2.0 to the 2.3. Past Saturday I had it back in and running. Sunday and early this week I sorted out the larger turbo actuator and linkage. Drove it home last night and to work today. Perfect! Strut bar is Massive Speed Systems!
