You can actually skip the "Place the reservation..." step altogether and just place the order. This time around, reservations just equate to leads at your chosen dealership. I placed my order on June 9th with a dealer I didn't reserve through because the 2 I did reserve through were either unhelpful or unresponsive.
Your salesperson must have put in a reservation for you. That’s what happened with me. I thought I would just go in and order, but because the dealers aren’t allowed any allocations yet, there must be an actual consumer reservation before the order can be initiated.

Just make sure to not pay any ADM (dealer markup). Granger is doing 3% under invoice, Chapman is 4% under invoice, some dealers are doing $500 under MSRP, Long McArthur Ford in Salina, KS is doing MSRP and free shipping to almost anywhere in the US if you finance through them. There are deals to be had if you’re willing, but don’t take a high deposit or above MSRP. There are some threads here about buying cars out of state with some of those dealers as well.

Here is one with pricing and invoice pricing.
Those are good deals. How would this work? When I order from a dealership, I'm guessing the truck would have to be delivered to that dealership. When I priced my truck on ford.com, it shows a $1500 destination fee. So this fee is shipping only to the dealership I order from? Or can i order from one dealership and have to shipped to another one, or my house?

So, I just had a strange experience. I initiated a reservation, but I wasn't charged $100.00 during the reservation request. It was forwarded to my chosen dealer, who must have automatic replies set-up, because I received two emails immediately, one from Ford, and one from an internet salesperson.

The reservation system for the Maverick is different this time around. It is only acting as a referral for the dealership. If they don't contact you quickly, I would call them, or setup another "reservation" with another dealer until you get someone to help you.

The dealers, their selves, can have you pay a deposit, but it varies from dealer to dealer. Good luck with your order.

It has to be delivered to dealership, correct. $1495 destination fee is from Ford and nonnegotiable. The CD setup would mean you find a local dealer willing to accept shipment of your Mav on behalf of Chapman/whomever and they charge you a small fee to do so ($200-$350 I’ve seen). If you do that though, Chapman will charge a “deposit”for shipping back to them in the event you don’t want the truck. I checked uship and it was $951 from them to me, but it’ll come off the price of the truck when I do paperwork. Like a down payment.

Edit: ask for fleet managers to inquire about courtesy deliveries. Sales managers will not deal with it.

Great, thanks. I definitely feel better prepared to contact more dealers. Appreciate the help. Now can I decide on a color. Loving that cactus gray!
