Hello! There is a lot of good information in these 10 pages! Certainly, a lot of stuff I didn't know. What I can contribute is my newbie experience with a crazy daily commute and a Hybrid. I am on my third week of owning my 2023 XLT Hybrid. I bought it certified used with 24K miles on it for an amazingly good price. My main goal was to not have to fill up the gas tank every other day in my 104-mile round trip to work M-F. It has been mostly cold since I got it. Not as cold as it could be but definitely below freezing. I have learned from this thread that maybe I shouldn't be at all sad that I don't have heated seats and steering wheel! I have learned from joining MTC that I will get better mileage when warmer...and saw that on my 65-degree day last week! I don't think I can adequately give solid numbers to my driving high speed highway versus city because it is a mess, but I can describe it! I live in a suburb and take mostly rural roads for about 9 miles to the highway. In the morning this 9 miles is mostly smooth sailing with one school zone in the middle. In the evening there is a lot of stop and go from traffic and people turning. Once I am on the highway, I have a very heavy foot and am grateful for Waze telling me when I should slow down . I am always at 75-85 at these points in the trip. Eventually I hit traffic for no reason other than I am nearing a big city. Always annoying stop and go traffic has turned into a game to see if I can keep it in Electric without making the people behind me mad. Eventually I get through and make it back up to 75 mph before getting off and taking only 1.5 miles in the city before work. Same in the evening except the stop and go traffic is worse and longer and closer to the start of the drive. Now that you have a picture of the circumstances, I've seen between 34 and 35 mpg on a particularly cold and low traffic day. I would say I consistently average around 37 on my "normal" days. I was very excited to find that on the 65-degree day, I hit 40.5 mpg for the 52-mile drive home! I don't recall if the traffic was worse because I didn't realize at the time to pay attention to that aspect. I did play my EV Coach game all the way home. I did go fast when possible. I am about a dozen miles short of only filling up once for the 520-mile week but am hoping warmer weather will push me over the edge. Either way, I am thrilled. I am going to have to make the sacrifice of only half the towing capability when I wanted to get a one-to-two-person shelter, but daily work drive was a bigger deal to me. Also, I haven't tried Eco mode yet. Maybe I will! Good luck on your decision.

Mileage update. Same trip that was 28.5mpg at 28F this morning was 36.8 mpg home, same cruise settings, ECO mode, and 61F.

Crazy how much temp can impact these things.

Some here are saying the hybrid "cant get out of its own way" , and others say "it rips
and tows very well" , anyone have solid insight on this , its one of the reasons I'm skeptical ... If
I'm giving up a lot of power and also not getting great MPG with hybrid maybe EB is the
way to go . My build date is 03/31 2025 so its coming up fast .
So I have been running it in ECO mode almost all the time and it is a bit sluggish, but that is what it is supposed to be.

I find the throttle tip in and throw is quite a bit longer than most cars. It takes more travel distance to get that ooompfh out of it.

I drove back from Portland and had to stomp the throttle to go around a semi that decided to change lanes and it scooted away pretty well even in ECO mode. It just take more travel to get it on.

There are plenty of cars available on lots to test drive both but the Hybrid is the better car to get- it's just more expensive. The hybrid is plenty capable and will have all the power you need and nothing more.

Before getting my Ecoboost I test drove the hybrid and I liked it, it was fine, it drove well, and the CVT gives you a very smooth driving experience- it just felt meh. The Ecoboost has excess power and decent feel/sound when driving - I came from an underpowered n Subaru so it was a breath of fresh air.. If you care about fuel efficiency and want a daily, get the hybrid. If you're keeping it for a long time, get the hybrid. If you don't care about fuel costs and want a fun ride get the Ecoboost.

I commented 101 miles 4 days a week and am running around on the weekends also. 80 miles of that is parkway (70mph)
I first got my Mav in February, COLD. Gas milage was 28 average. Warmed up, I average 32 now. I only average around 5 miles electric on my work commute :( so that's just pretty much straight up engine.
When I go other places with more coasting/hill/stopNGo, it's better. I averaged 35mpg on a trip recently (not my work route, rural 2 lane)The more stop and go, town driving you do-amazing. I love the giddy up, but I have always drove smaller engine vehicles. It transitions and accelerates so dang smooth.
I love watching the brake coach and this may make more sense when you see it for yourself. I don't think there is a bad reason to opt for hybrid- hwy milage the same for Ecoboost, but you have opportunity to gain so much more with any town, slow driving.

I'm back a few days later with warm weather and 2600 miles on my 25 hybrid that with my 100 miles work commute with 80 miles parkway - I'm at 33-34mpg. Rural roads, I got 46. 35mpg roads, I got 50 the other day.

The refreshed Crosstrek, 150 HP when it was new maybe. It was everything I needed and nothing more. When the the 2028 model refresh comes out I'll reassess if I want the Ecoboost still.

My daily commute is 121 miles round trip , PAINFUL !

I range the 1st 26 miles 30-45 mph , 2nd 25 miles is highway 55-70 mph and
the last 7-8 miles is 40-45 mph ... My commute home is reversed but massive
traffic stop and go . I feel like the way home my mileage should shine , not sure it will be amazing on the way in .

First 26 miles you'll reliably be in Electric drive, 2nd 25 miles you'll be in hybrid most of the time, and last 7-8 miles in electric drive. Not going to wager the mileage but you'll see good MPG numbers with that route, especially with the stop and go if you don't really get after the pedal on the GO part.

Hello all , my first post and very happy to be here . I have been skulking around a bit and reading
a lot of posts , I have a 3/31 build date for my 2025 Lariat AWD hybrid , space white , BAP , tow pack , sun roof , slider , console vault and some other goodies . After lots of reading I'm beginning to wonder if I should have gone with the ecoboost and the 8 spd .

After lots of reading it seems the abundant mileage I was hoping to get is going to be a pipe dream , I
like the thought of trying something new "hybrid technology" but I'm leaving power on the table vs ecoboost
and I may only achieve 5-6 more miles per gallon with hybrid .

Currently I'm commuting to work 110 MI round trip in a 2023 F450 Lariat diesel dually (keeping) so no matter which maverick I get it will be a mileage improvement over the 17 I'm getting now . Can any
25' hybrid owners give me some feedback or advice whether I should keep this hybrid coming or maybe
opt for the ecoboost , I'm trying not to make the wrong decision . It seems from reading some of you really like your hybrid's and some do not any input much appreciated !
Keep the truck. It won’t disappoint

The hybrid excels at stop and go, the Ecoboost absolutely sucks - you can see your average MPG drop in realtime every time you come from a stop- that's why you might as well floor it with the Ecoboost and have fun.

@LilMags500 especially now that it is getting warmer!! 73 F on my way home yesterday and I got my current high of 42.9 mpg! 40 F this morning but I had a coat so I tried someone I read in the MTC's trick of not turning the heat on. Afternoon type stop and go and I made it to a bit over 40 mpg! Of course, when I was going 80, I got a rock to the window...grrrrr

I also commute 100+ miles/day. Pics from the 22 model 2wd hybrid over 2.5 years and the current AWD hybrid over the last 2 months. I haven't done any towing with the new one yet, but the '22 model did a fair amount (about 1/5 of the miles) max towing my side-by-side.

Are those screens in the Ford app? I certainly can't find anything like that there!
