Opinion on XL's getting built in 2024

So, I know there is some great advice and knowledge on what is going on with the Maverick production on this site.

do you think the XL's will get built in 2024, that were ordered in 2023? I have heard from dealers now that not very likely because ford will put the low price Mavericks on the back burner. They say it has happened for years in other pickups if you ordered an XL.

Ford is taking advantage of the person that can't afford the extras in the higher priced models xlt etc..

The isn't getting much attention with this but their tactics are becoming more aloud on social media.

My 24 XL Hybrid (23 Rollover) is scheduled for 2/19 build date. I will probably sell it for MSRP (window sticker) + TTL. My profit will by my discounts from roll over and Farm Bureau. The only options were hitch and cp360.

I would stay with the XL (best bang for the buck)

Ford estimated 23% of the US Retail 2024MY production would be XL Mavericks. They seem to be on track to produce over 120K US Retail Mavericks. That means they should produce approximately 30K XLs for the US Retail marketplace.

If your dealer has Maverick allocations, I believe Ford's forecast means you would get an XL Maverick if you already ordered it. We ordered a 2024 XL Hybrid with the number one Maverick dealer in the US. Although it has not been scheduled, I still think it will be produced.

I do believe ordering an XL Hybrid **now*** might be hard to get in 2024. Yet, the current USOB Retail orders should be produced sometime during the model year.

Note that Ford won't be rolling over orders to 2025 due to the planned refresh.

Didn't explain my model well enough. Gas engine, awl and 4k towing. These plain janes they push off till last if at to build. Those xl's people are getting a build date on from a 2023 order are more expensive and more features other than a plain jane xl model.

All depends on your dealer's allocations and your priority at that dealer.

With real estate it's location, location, location!!! With Mavericks, it's allocations, allocations, allocations!!!

As others have said, allocation is key. What dealer you order with is huge, though I realize most folks don't understand this and really should not have to.

That said, there is no "right" to purchase a vehicle. And just because you have an order doesn't obligate Ford to fill it. As someone who waited 11 months for his 2022 XLT I will tell you it sucks but you are at Ford's mercy.

I ordered XL, FWD, with hitch in July 23 when order banks opened. One step away from as plain Jane as it gets.

Took delivery last week. I was second in line at my dealer when order banks opened. Hate to sound like a broken record but allocations/individual dealer waitlist does indeed seem king.

It all depends on dealer allocation. I personally ordered a MY24 cactus grey xl with the only add on being the tow hitch. I received the confirmation of order on 07/19/23 and currently have a scheduled build date the week of 02/26/24.

The dealer I went through has had a lot of mavericks come through their door. Last week they had 11 but all were ordered I believe and people took them. They had one that the guy didn't want and called me about buying that one. It had way more than I wanted but did have the 4K tow.

When I call Ford on the status they say it is a clean order but waiting for a build date.

My xl Hybrid is scheduled for 3/18. Ordered on 01/06 of this year. It all comes down to your dealers allocations.
