Ohio Plate Renewal - BMV Didn't Catch Hybrid

Ohio, and states like it, screwed the pooch. They haven’t gotten any plate revenue from me since 2019, which was the last year I had the Prius registered there. Both my Versa and the Maverick have been purchased and registered out of Texas, so they lost the sales tax on both as well. Texas did remove any desire I had to purchase an all-electric vehicle, but I am hoping to find a good An-Cap to support in the state legislature, maybe we can get that turned around.

Ditto for my Maverick hybrid in Ohio - I registered mine when new for five years as I knew registration fees will go up at some point.

And they will be beginning January 2026.
