Plus playing soldier is fun, I guess. I play motocross racer on the weekend so I guess I can't hate too bad. I'm never scared or worried about any of those scenarios so I suppose I'll never be "prepared" for them.
I admit to liking the utility offered by the Molle system, but don’t equate my use to "playing soldier”. Having spent thirty-two years as an active-duty infantryman both as a NCO and officer, I believe I know the difference between being proud of my service and playing a role..

Well, I get being prepared. It's really not that big of a deal. Some people are just more complacent than others and never been outside their safety bubbles I guess.

I just poke fun at the "bedazzlers" with all the interior add-ons, but it's not my truck so I really don'[t care. The rest of the stuff I totally get. Nothing wrong with being prepared for common scenarios.

Thank you for your service. What rank did you end up going green to gold?

I went in straight after graduation from college, 1974. I turned down a USAF commission and enlisted in the Army. It was right at the end of Vietnam and there was no guaranteed option for OCS.. I went from basic and AIT right to Airborne and Ranger schools as a PFC. My enlisted time was spent as a SGT assigned as a TAC NCO at Ranger school. Eventually, I made it to OCS. Thirty years later, I retired as a COL.

My career took me from Alaska to multiple diplomatic tours in Africa, an armed conflict, finding myself as the sole American remaining in a country undergoing a genocide, and five years + serving as a Special Advisor for National Security Affairs to two Vice Presidents. I have no reason to play at being a soldier, I lived the life.

I thought that was a pretty inappropriate comment, a careless assumption. But I would say that people who have tactical gear and things like you have installed pretty much never have the service history you just described.

Not a bad idea. I have some tape I use on the doors in the house to prevent the dogs’ nails from scratching the paint. It can do the same in my truck.
Yes, I am noticing some marks in that area as well I'm thinking of covering it with some clear tape ,I guess the metal buckle is hitting it when you unbuckle. Cmon Ford.

I’m now working on personalizing my third Maverick after having lost my first in an accident and trading in my second for my current hybrid XLT. Many of the items on the list that follows are quick drop in accessory purchases. Some of the easy mods are nothing more than hard wiring power cords to a multi-port USB hub. Some originality went into the use of a storage net mounted to the back wall behind the rear seat and the quick release storage site for the fire extinguisher under the driver’s seat. I especially like the switch panel mounted to the overhead console for controlling external lighting. Listed also are many items I have stored in the interior for comfort and emergencies. There is nothing special about any one item I have added to my Maverick’s interior, but together they make it mine. Given a break from playing lifeguard for the grandkids and great grandkids in our pool, I’ll take and post pictures.

Interior

- Transferred rear window gun rack
- Stored collapsible walking stick on rear window rifle rack

Nice! I am actually trying to find a gun rack for a similar purpose - walking stick and my long handled ice scraper brush but I can't find any that work for the window size. Yours look similar to what I just tried but yours fits. Where did you get it?

Thanks!

I don’t know. I originally purchased it to go into my first truck a new 1976 Toyota long bed pkup. I have used it in several other trucks over the years. It was designed to hold two long arms, but that was too tall for the Maverick’s back window. I cut it down so it will only hold one item, but fit the window.
