Not seeing Mavericks in the wild... why not? How about your community?

Not to turn this into a Saturn forum, but as I understand it, Saturn was basically Honda based. The Saturns were different and had nice lines. Shame they were discontinued.

Plus they had a different sales model. No worries about markups no haggle price.

Hadn't seen a Maverick in the wild ever - even before I ordered mine last November. Until last Thursday. Saw two Mav's and figured it might be an omen about my MY22 order. But no email, no dealer call. On Friday, purely on a whim, I called FORD marketing expecting to hear 'nothing happening on your order'. Instead, the rep said 'here's your VIN # and you have a build week of 10/17'. So I guess it was an omen to see two Mav's in the wild in a span of a couple of hours after not seeing ANY for over a year.

I too have seen more Santa Cruz. And almost as many Rivians. OK, only one of those, but I think only 4 Mavs.

You're right! I had completely forgotten about that nugget of customer convenience. AMC was innovative and progressive. I wonder if the other manufacturers had some hand in their demise.

Saturn did play the usual “ let me talk to my manager” act when it came to the trade in price. I almost bought one.

So we live in a mid sized city in a populous state with 5 Ford dealers within 30 miles of each other but I have only seen 7 actual rigs and only at the dealers.
Today I spotted this fresh off the truck Hybrid Lariat at a dealer awaiting its prep time... first eyes on a Lariat and hybrid for me personally. Never have seen a truck out on the road. I have seen and touched an XL, XLT, AWD and now this white Lariat. Like I said 7 total in the mix.
I am a car/truck guy and can spot vehicles way off........ just not seeing many yet. I know they are being built and sold but it’s odd for me not to see someone out showing their new truck off
I feel deprived...., yet hopeful when deliveries ramp up.

Last week, my brother saw a Maverick parked in front of a store in Lawrenceburg, IN and actually touched it. He said it looked nice. I ordered mine on Oct. 3, 2021 and have yet to touch one. The closest I got to one was at a car show in Cincinnati past winter. People got to climb in and out of $100,000 dollar vehicles but the $20,000 Maverick was roped off and unapproachable. LOL

I live in upstate NY and ordered my Maverick in January of this year. I have only seen two, in traffic, and both were seen in MA while I was on vacation on Cape Cod. I have yet to see one in my area!

You are correct, but it is my understanding that GM used Honda parts (powertrain and such). Nonetheless, The Saturn line of cars were well designed. There's two on my street still running strong.

Closest I came to a serious accident was with that car. Traveling on the Garden state parkway next thing I know a car is sideways in front of me. Seen the astonished look on the driver's face. I punched it, was lucky the car next to me moved enough so I could get throgh. Looked in my rear view mirror it was carnage. Like a Nascar wreck. Read later there were no serious injures but the road was closed until it was cleaned up.

I've seen maybe 5 other than my own. One of those "lives" a few blocks from me.
Encountered a Santa Cruz recently and confirmed to myself that I made the right choice.
