Not seeing Mavericks in the wild... why not? How about your community?

I'm starting to see a couple of Mavericks in San Diego area.
This week I saw a Red first edition and a white hybrid today!

Mine was due to arrive this week before the tracker went crazy with no delivery date haha... No word from my dealer yet. Fingers crossed its here this coming week!.

I've yet to see one in southern Ontario, an hour east of Toronto. Interestingly, my local Hyundai dealer has had a white Santa Cruz sitting on their lot unsold for a good 3 weeks now.

Saw this one in the wild. Talked to the owner. Little old lady in her mid 60s maybe 65 i'd guess. She said she special ordered it 8 months ago, and just picked it up. She told me she wanted the ecoboost and AWD. Got the XLT Lux group, hard cover, and tow hitch. I told her I ordered the exact same one in december, same color and everything minus the luxury pak, and cover. Man that silver just pops in the sun. I'm glad I switched to it from cactus. I wished her well, told her it was beautiful. Seeing it just solidified my color choice, and willingness to wait for mine.

Unexpectedly pulled up next to a VB XLT at a stop light. I was in the right turn lane. Lot's of horn honking, waving, and excited smiles. It was like we were part of a happy conspiracy.
I was alone, the XLT had at least 2. I was even wearing my Ford Maverick cap! Left me in a good mood the rest of the day.

Well it finally happened. 3100 miles & 3 months after taking delivery and I finally had someone ask me about my maverick. A couple stopped me at the trailhead while I was loading my bike up and asked to look at it. Said they hadn’t seen one in person yet. Didn’t have one on order but were thinking about one in 2-3 years…

maybe people in Ohio just don’t talk when it’s cold out lol!

edit to add: I have only seen 2 locally also. Another HPR on i76 in Akron, and and alto blue at the local dealer.

Saw my first one yesterday, while loading lumber at Lowes.
Had my hands full so I couldn't flag the driver down. Plus I was so shocked at seeing one, it almost didnt register. LOL

So very true. When first seeing one you have about one second of disbelief, one second of shock and by then they're gone!

I found my first wild one this weekend, an Area 51 XLT Ecoboost on the highway heading home.

It was in the left lane doing 90 in a 100, and there was a Civic that cut me off to get around them. So that was...memorable.

5 not including mine
3 Lariats at the dealer (finally got to see a Hot Pepper Lariat!)
One on the way home (cactus XLT)
The most surprising was in my work parking lot
Cactus Lariat that was picked up today
My work neighbor’s uncle came up to show him
So 4 Lariats in one day
The interior is really nice, I’m glad I ordered mine the way I did

I've seen a grand total of four Mavericks, but I saw a Rivian today. It looked better than I expected.

While talking to my Ford Rep, inquiring where MY Maverick is, what came zipping up behind me but this beauty....with a great plate. Makes me want to get a Gooseman tag.
BTW, mines on a train somewhere btw Mexico and thier transfer station in KY, so who knows when it will get me in NC, but at least its built!

There's a Rivian in my neighborhood and I've seen it a couple of times. Has a broad stance ... looks to be a tad bigger than the Maverick. Still trying to wrap my head around 800 hp and the $70k base price.

Nothing to wrap your head around. $70K is a bit large for an overpowered electric golf cart.

Had a second sighting yesterday, HPR hybrid. Didn't see what trim, got distracted by the f-250 pulling a travel trailer on fire on the side of the highway.
