My friend who ordered a Maverick Hybrid when I did, just had the harness problem on the way over to my house. He shut off his truck on a unlit road, and when he went to restart it everything was dead. He then discovered that he had no power to turn on his safety flashing light to warn others. This is a real problem that Ford must fix now!

Yeah, that's the 12v battery issue. Broken wiring harness connection. And there's no way to run the dual flashers off the high voltage battery.

Can I suggest keeping some safety triangles behind the back seat?

Apparently Ford is ignoring the issue from a recall perspective as I understand it. Untold number of post and threads about it on this forum.

Yes, the no-power issue gets me every now and then, requiring a Noco jump in total darkness. I've got the routine down now, even in total darkness.
Fortunately, I have not had this problem while underway. Two Ford dealerships with "factory-trained" hybrid specialists have told me I don't have the harness problem. Yet the condition is recurring.
I keep items in the vehicle to mitigate the risks, but I commute very early in the morning on unlit rural roads.
Ford should have issued a proper recall.

Thanks, I have tried to make suggestions, gently and assertively.

They hate and ignore troubleshooting advice from the customer.

Are you still dealing with this issue?

You or someone else pull the fuse box and verify harness. These are rolling computers, some mechanics will need to find another career, sooner than later.

FWIW, my long-term practice when taking a vehicle in for servicing is to hand them a piece of paper with my issues, what I know of it in detail, what I suspect might be the problem. Then I have clear documentation when they hand me back their paperwork and it indicates they either did or did not address what I was in for. Old auditing habit: if it ain't written down, it didn't happen, he said/she said doesn't cut it.

I've moved my LED strobe lights bought years ago from my sold vehicles to the new ones.
Lightman™ Wide-Angle LED Safety Kit - Amber 733300

I hadn't thought about a vehicle loosing all 12V power while driving it like these hybrids can.
Think I'll use my extra ones so I have 2 per vehicle just in case.

Yeah, still an issue. Of bigger concern is that the dealer's had it back for a month trying to correct a botched airbag recall. I about done with this one, unfortunately.

I'm sorry you're having issues with service. I certainly don't blame you for getting rid of it. Sad part, it needs to be repaired before you can dump it.

Right, it is at the dealer hopefully getting everything sorted. The best I can do is have a reputable dealer sign off that all is well.
