Definitely dead now one way or the other. All I know is that I have never seen one before, dead or alive, here in this northern area. Google Lens says it "was" a Great Diving Beetle. Hope my Maverick was not submerged somewhere at sometime. It is questionable!!! I see that wrench tool next to that poor bug. are you sure you have not smash him "accidently"![]()
When I was a kid we called them June Bugs. We would tie thread to one of their legs and let them fly around holding the other end of the thread. Their harmless. My brothers, neighborhood kids and I would have competitions on whose would fly around the longest before it landed. Great Memories!I recently applied Fluid Film on my XL EB and did find a lot of trapped leaves and road debris. Also found an unexpected hitch hiker when removing the plastic rocker panels. Glad it was dead.

It’s only when I open the passenger door, it’s more noticeable after being driven… I couldn’t find any leaks.. I haven’t taken the under engine bay cover off yet to check… but it’s the smell you get if you drive it, then take the oil fill cap off and smell the cap. It’s not over powering, but it is noticeable?? Maybe it’s normal, but I just haven’t experienced that before. Also, here is a picture of my passenger side engine mount… it’s looked this way from day one, never got a chance to get back and check it out or say anything… does anyone else’s look like this? Bad picture will grab a better one soon. But it’s like what the hell happened or got on to the mount? It’s got like dark black splatters and dirty like it’s been in the vehicle for long time with oil/grease spilled on it and driven over time and gotten dirty…. I’m sure some engine/break clean and it’s going to look fine… but do these have some type of grease in them? Maybe this could be the vibration I’m experiencing between 15-30mph? I have to get my mav in to dealer soon for a few little things… but maybe you guys know?![]()

You could get a spray can of undercoating.Need something that will not absorb water, maybe a closed cell foam
Aircraft foam
Base Warranty or misbuilt unit claim will handle itThat’s kind of crappy to not curse on here… but come on… I get cost cutting etc… but that’s such a basic cheap piece of item and it goes along way with noise and etc. if I find that most all of us have none… I just will try to put some in myself if I can maneuver such a thing lol.
parts.ford.com shows the same thing for the RH Fender Apron Insulator.According to Tasca, the passenger side (Right) insulator is on national back-order. I tried ordering both, (Lincoln) engine cover and fasteners. I still ordered the driver's side insulator -- for a reason. When I drop my daughter off at school, I open my door (leave it open) while the truck is running. I grab her backpack out of the back seat, hand it to her, hug her goodbye, and get back in. Upon entering, I sometimes smell engine smells (Maverick is still fairly new). Also, while cleaning the interior once, I couldn't figure out where this heat was coming from -- like a heater was blowing on me. It was from that opening. I've had 30+ cars since the late 80s. All of them had some sort of barrier between the engine bay and passenger compartment.
