3. Wide angle lenses on smartphones distort reality
Oh that's what is distorting reality, here I thought it was all the social media sites, like Ford scheduling! 🙄🤣🤣

Do you have to buy the remote separately or is that Ready-To-Run?

I stopped by the local Ford dealer to order a bed rug and hood protector and of course parked in the truck area between some of my new Maverick’s older cousins.

It's an apples to oranges comparison really, the larger trucks are meant for a different consumer.

I'm buying a maverick because I don't tow, and anything heavy enough to need to be in the bigger truck, I can have delivered and I don't have to unload.

If I had a camper, were a contractor consistently pulling a trailer, or doing hot-shot shipping, the other two would be my choice. Just like if either of those two needed to move 40k lbs of freight, the truck to do so would similarly dwarf them.

Think a bullet vs a rocket, same concept, different scale.

I drove Semi Trucks in and around the San Francisco Bay area for 25 years. Some folks yearn for a BIGger truck. SMALL, AFFORDABLE trucks disappeared for 20 years, due to that silly, BIGGER ego trip.

They are quite small when you see it next to other larger vehicles, but they dont look too bad on their own. Heres a pic I took at a dealer with several different vehicles for comparison.

The good Ole USA can be wasteful here and there with oversized trucks in the cities perhaps.

the country folk still need the horsepower getting things ready for your dairy, Big Macs, steaks etc.
If your vegetarian we still gotta haul around the veggies. Haha 😄

having driven one around for the last few weeks now, i can attest to this, it is much smaller than my neighbors trucks, they don't even need to be side by side to gauge it, but i have to say it does not "feel" small by any means when you're up on it.
i drove a tiny truck when i was in college (a datsun pickup if you remember those itty-bitty actually mini trucks) and this maverick feels huge by comparison. when i am rolling through my hood i really do feel up high and in a "truck", even if i'm really at the same level as a typical crossover (my other ford is an escape).

in the end, the proportions and details on this trucklet really do maintain that true truck feel, even if its on the slender side of it. THB it probably helps that i am but 5'5".

all my "big truck" neighbors love my FE, and openly admit they are thinking about making the jump when/if these ever become widely available.

I traded in a crew cab Silverado for the Mav and have no regrets. My infrequent rear seat passengers just won't have as much leg room. Oh well. I can still get three asses seated back there, though, if they're friendly with each other.

I have a feeling my Bronco would be dwarfed between those two mastodons.

Here in the northwest corner of Washington [Blaine, Bellingham] I have seen a few, like 5. To me they looked small, yet large. Looking at all the pictures posted, most of the time the trucks are alone with no size references around them. And as dbmurray said, phone pictures distort as you look towards the edges of the photos. Looking forward to getting our own Hybrid XLT and then see it in person. I promise to post pictures that are not distorted with other vehicles around to get a proper perspective.
