Newbie Forscan Question

So I no nothing about Forscan, but unlocking some highly desired frills like access to all the drive modes and sign recognition is VERY interesting. Just curious if there is a way experts can help newbies remotely, maybe even for a small fee? Have any Forscan gurus devised something similar to "batch files" that can do the most desired mods easily? If my chips will be hiding locked potential, I've got to figure out a way to unlock them! Even if I have to learn the program from scratch.

I don't do batch files as the app itself doesn't provide a consistent interface (sometimes the order of things is different, so even a "Sendkeys" script would mess up). However, there are a few places to get started:

ForScan, Programmers, Tuners, Coders | MaverickTruckClub - 2022+ Ford Maverick Pickup Forum, News, Owners, Discussions has a Step-by-Step getting started guide. It explains how to get a temporary license (good for 2 months, and you can always request another one later as needed), which OBDII cables/devices to use, and a good overview of the interface.

I would start there then make sure you can get ForScan connected, and save a backup of your vehicle configuration. Then you can look through the interface to get familiar with it.

From there, its mostly just searching for the posts that identify the settings to change for which features and they often have a step by step process you can follow, or it lists the values to change. On the few I've done, I try to post screenshots and steps so you can see exactly what to change.

FORSCan can save and restore module configurations in *.abt file format.

Here is an example of the format

60G11E000000FF7E

The hex codes are the same values but in a slightly different format than Ford's own "As-Built" format that can be download from their site for each VIN.

The abt text file can be edited and then reloaded. Make sure you keep a copy of the original abt file so you can go back to it if something goes wrong.

Interesting concept. I’d be willing to setup a teams call and you could share your screen and I could walk through some things. The adding extra modes is pretty easy, just don’t expect them all to work. I tried adding a few extra ones to my hybrid and they showed onscreen but then said not available (Lobo mode). I haven’t decided be sign recognition because my lariat came with it but doesn’t look too hard. You missed the best one, remove seatbelt menu and chimes!
