Yup. That is a nice feature ... until you drive another car that does not have it and jump out of it in Drive out of habit.
Well i never tried shifting my auto like my 4speeds

I will just say what I told my 15-year-old daughter who didn't use a turn signal despite no one being around: doing the right thing all the time means you end up doing the right thing when it matters.

Do you at least come to a full stop and allow the vehicle to go into park with your foot still on the brake? I don't see how the motion with your right hand is so time consuming. But hey, it's your transmission and possible insurance claim if it doesn't work out, not mine!

It's a way cool feature, but videos like this just freak me out ;)

I hit a few of my jobsites today and some I have to jump out unlock gate and drive through then stop again going through. Well I like the fact that I can just stop open door and hop out. Automatically goes into park. That is super handy as sometimes I have to jump in and out multiple times really quick. Now no reason to worry about putting in park(flat ground). Just open door and bail. Hop back in and roulette spin to right and go. Pretty cool. That's all in case someone else didn't know.
So your saying after you brake to a stop, open the door and get out it automatically goes into park? Curious if you opened the door while slowly coasting if it would automatically brake and go into park....

You are setting yourself up for a potential disaster. Way too many issues to mention. A 3000 pound plus vehicle was built by man, be safe my friend.

It may be convenient but it could be habit forming and backfire when you are in a different vehicle and forget to put it in PARK. A child was run over in my home town years ago when the parent exited the vehicle to assist them without putting it in Park. Better safe than sorry and not form a habit that won't work or be available on every vehicle you may be driving. Just my 2 cents worth.

So you're telling me this means I can't ghost ride the whip? That's it, the maverick was a solid 10/10 car before hearing this news, but now, it's a -10/10 car, would not recommend. My diassponment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.

Stopped at mail box, opened door auto park. Hopped back in, hit the golf course, opened door....guess what happened next?
How many of you grew up on 110 ATC 3 wheelers? 250s? Didn't anyone else jump off 2 story houses to try and fly?

Be careful about the habit you are building. I already have trouble with leaving rental cars in park when I shut off the engine; I don't have to move the shifter in my Bronco Sport to park because it does it automatically.

That's what I told the kids about the blind spot detection in our van. None of our other vehicles have it. So if they get used to it and think it is engaged in one of our other vehicles, that could get expensive.

A lot of Back Seat Beckys in this thread, man oh man. Safety Features are Neat. Utilizing them in their Intended Purposes is...Also Neat! All drivers should Always be aware of the safety features enabled on the vehicle they are currently driving, duh. OP is using the feature within it's Intended Design, as shown in post #24. Congratulations to everyone for making this thread one of the funniest things I've read this morning.

One thing I don't have yet but will not use....lane assist. That scares me thinking about not being in control. This auto park is way safer😁 You can literally just stop and open your door and watch it go into park.
If you like that feature I think you would like lane assist. It takes a little bit getting used to sharing control but it’s a great feature! I use it on my monthly FL-SC trips and I almost feel like a passenger with ACC and Lane Assist🤣
