New Step in Tracking?

I brought this up to my dealer and he responded with this...

"David, Ford Motor Company system shows the same as it did the other day. It is probably waiting for pass through for inspection to come into the US. I will keep checking to see if any updates". Marc

I had an expected delivery date of 03/06/2022 and has since gone missing with the addition of the "Final Preparation" status.

I Have the feeling that this is Ford trying to improve the online ordering experience by giving us a bit more info. The tracking page will probably get the dates back in there as the update completes.

Hard to use these Ford tools to track our purchases when they keep changing.
The layout on 2/15 (after I received my BUILT email) was:
Order Confirmed 8/7/21
In Production 2/14/22
Built 2/16 with an ETA of 3/25/22 With an empty Shipped bullet and A Delivery bullet that just said TBD.
Now it says Confirmed, In Production, Built with Check marks in the bullets and dates.
Then goes to Shipped and Final Prep with empty bullets and no dates. And my ETA is now gone. Also notice the Shipped Bullet has the Bullet down on the time line with a little Blue circle in it, while the Final Prep is above the time line and solid white.

Pure speculation on my part, but I think the blue circle in the white circle (bullet) might mean it is actually at that stage. A solid white bullet is just the next stage with an unknown time it actually will start. Also I would think this is automated maybe the handoff gets something scanned to show completion but still has human hands on. So I can see a person doing 10 or 15 of these entries at a time to be more efficient. Just a guess, but I'm thinking I'm getting closer.

My Maverick was built February 8th and had an estimated delivery time of March 14th but now my estimated delivery time got pushed back all the way to June 15th adding another step may push it out to one year.

If you're curious about the current status you can always request a vehicle visibility report from your dealer. That's how I got my tracking info to even know it was in the US because the bubbles changed (not trying to imply it would have told me rail tracking, just that the shipped date disappeared).

Came here because mine was switched to "final preperation" today as well. Glad to see I'm not the only one. Mine was originally scheduled for March 16th. Really hoping to see it in the next week or so, but the guy who said his got pushed back to June kinda scares me.

I'd like to believe that "Final Preparation" means that the vehicle is either in route to the dealer or already at the dealer but just going through a PDI and installing any accessories that a customer ordered. Just like everyone else, I got the same notification on my order tracker. My estimated delivery is gone and is instead replaced with "Final Preparation" My estimated delivery of March 14 below the VIN is gone as well as the transit times varying from 12-28 days disclaimer. I did contact my dealer last Friday and the last update was at a railyard in Illinois on February 16. So I'm hoping that after two weeks, it should either be in my home state or even better, at the dealer. The email from Ford said my estimated delivery was between March 8-14. I would think I'm still on track with this. No I'm not butthurt, I'm just getting anxious. I can't wait for it! I've been waiting patiently for half a year so I'm ready!

All they did was remove any dates of delivery to keep the anticipation level and phone calls to Ford at a minimum. When you see the final preparation circle, your Maverick is on a truck to the dealer or at the dealer getting final prep.
