The blurry picture doesn't help, either.

Looks like there are also some additional buttons. Perhaps they moved some of the console buttons to it (?).

The rendering doesn't show it. But yes, the only difference otherwise appears to be the orange stitching.

It's not shifting if there's no clutch pedal.

Well, not that I'm into the feature at my stage of life, so maybe its not "shifting" in the "old school way", clutch/manual shifter, it does simulate the "manual shifting" and it does actually shift the gears in an automatic transmission, so basically same effect. The driver gets to actually select the gear instead of the transmission doing it itself, so I can see the attraction and benefits. At least that my limited knowledge of paddle shifters.

Paddle shifters can be used on regular Mavs. Mine is a XLT FX42024 and I wired it for the paddles. Very informative thread about how to do it.
The paddles will upshift and downshift but do have a failsafe and it turns back to automatic after a few seconds if you are not using it in that time. Try to downshift 3 or 4 times and it simply wont let you choose a gear to high or low.
