How is it 9 hours to update software, even manually (not over the air)? The dealer running on dial-up internet? I have an apt Thursday morning to fix this.
So you have an appt to fix the PADI recall or this integrated park module update recall? If it's the latter I didn't think Ford released a fix yet for it and said fix coming by the end of Q1. They should be able to do this via OTA update but I guess we'll see.

Did you get yours fixed? 9 hours is laughable. I'm waiting at the dealership for them to fix mine, better not take 9 hours. Where did you see it was a hardware fix?
My mistake - all hardware for PADI.
Prior poster probably had other recalls known to them - and some do still require manual, no OTA available.

9 Hrs - only if tech misread the 1st line of instructions. Removing the dashboard is not required.
But they did.

Key Details of the Ford PADI Recall:
  • Affected Vehicles: 2025 Ford Maverick trucks.
  • The Problem: The PADI lamp, located in the instrument panel bezel, may not be securely retained due to weak, newly designed bezel clips.
  • Safety Risk: If the light is dislodged and not visible, passengers may not know if the airbag is active, increasing injury risk in a crash.
  • The Fix: Dealers will install retaining clips to secure the PADI lamp, free of charge.

Ohhhh, yeah sorry the recall/post title says for Park Module so I assumed that's what we were talking about. Yeah, mine doesn't have the recall for the PADI Lamp, just the Park Module, and the dealership let me schedule the recall on their website, so I assume it's available to update. I'll have to call and confirm.

I have this issue with my 2026 XL Hybrid. It drove fine for the first 1,000 miles and then I couldn't put it in park and it wouldn't start. I had it towed to the dealership less than one month after buying it. They gave me a loaner, but I have not received a response on repair time or what is wrong with it yet (they've had it for about 24 hours). I'm very disappointed, hoping it's a minor fix. I wish they still made the Fusion.

Called my dealer to confirm the recall/software update is available. They said it's ready, and I have an appointment on Thursday morning to get it done.

Is that for the IPM Parking Brake fix? I had mine towed on Saturday night and I was blowing them up on Monday morning. It's been radio silence since I got a rental.

They called and said the recall has been fixed, but some accessory is draining the battery (12 Volt battery). This has not been a positive experience with my new truck. I'm hoping they are getting all the negative items out early.

Please let us know how it goes. I was hopeful that this would be done via an OTA update as was mentioned in the release but maybe it still will?

I got a call from the dealership today and mine is ready to for pickup. Apparently this recall also caused my battery to drain. It sounds like they have a good solution in place.

Glad they got it done for you. I'd be interested in seeing if the paperwork says about what was actually performed that fixed your battery drainage issue too. Seems strange that the parking brake recall would cause your battery drain issue but stranger things have happened I guess, lol.

I was driving for over an hour and then I pulled over to get gas. I could not put it in park, change the gear, or start the ruck after that. My truck was completely shut down by computer software. It needed to be towed. Additionally, I could not remove the key. For whatever reason the software issue would not allow my accessories to shut off. Part of me wishes new cars didn't have computers in them.

They ran a diagnostic to determine the drain and as soon as the software was updated nothing was draining my battery.

Glad to hear everything is up and running good for you and here's to many happy Maverick miles ahead:)
