Today, went to the dentist. While waiting to be seen, I was looking through my phone and noticed in my Ford app that the recall notice was gone and it showed no active recalls.

hmmmm… I didn’t do anything to it.

It had been showing:

Recall type: Emissions
Campaign number 26E04
Description Powertrain control module
software update
Safety risk
I had the same thing happen to me last week

Well i have a ford maverick 2022 and it keeps saying the recall is not under mine VIN GUESS WHAT truck will 100 % be added as of today and i am calling ford corporate please enjoy my email i just sent

Dear Ford of Murfreesboro Service Team,
My 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid is currently parked at your facility awaiting diagnostic testing, where it has been sitting since Saturday, October 3, 2026. While I understand that Randy has already done a preliminary check, I am submitting this formal request to ensure your team conducts a complete, exhaustive inspection of all possible underlying systems before any billable repair work is initiated.

1. Primary Safety Incident & Loss of Motive Power
On Saturday, October 3, 2026, while driving, the truck suffered a sudden and severe loss of motive power. A powertrain malfunction warning appeared on the dashboard, and the accelerator pedal stopped functioning entirely. This presented a major safety hazard that forced me to coast across active traffic to reach the shoulder. Please note that during subsequent testing and diagnostic handling at the dealership, the truck is now failing to start altogether, and the accelerator pedal remains completely unresponsive.
I have looked up the manufacturing safety recall data for the 2022 Ford Maverick Powertrain Control Module (PCM) software updates. I note that for Campaign 24S33/2024-270 (Issue Date: 2026-02-11), Ford outlines an identical failure mode where a software calibration error in the Hybrid Powertrain Control Module (HPCM) causes a forced neutral condition while driving, resulting in the vehicle coasting to a stop, shifting to park, illuminating a wrench light, and severely limiting the accelerator pedal via a low-speed "Limp Home" mode.

2. Electrical Component Concern (Backup Camera / Radio Failure)
The vehicle is experiencing an ongoing electrical failure with the infotainment and safety systems. Specifically, on August 29 at night and again on September 11 during the day, upon shifting into reverse, the radio and the backup camera completely failed to function. I should not have to pull over, shut off my truck, and disconnect/reconnect the physical 12V battery terminal to temporarily restore functionality to an essential safety feature. I request that this system be properly diagnosed and replaced under the appropriate technical recall protocols.

3. Mechanical & Engine Management Concerns
The truck has displayed erratic and highly concerning mechanical behavior over the last month (October and November):
  • Brake Grabbing / Shuddering: When trying to come to a stop, the brakes feel like they are grabbing and jerking rather than stopping smoothly. This jerky sensation happens right as the truck is slowing down, making the stop feel uneven and rough.
  • Erratic Engine Revving in Reverse: On multiple occasions, shifting the vehicle into reverse causes the engine to rev up sharply and erratically without throttle input.

Requested Diagnostic Directives:
Because this combination of throttle control loss, total startup failure, infotainment blackouts, and engine surging can stem from highly integrated systems, I request a comprehensive check across all of the following:
  • Full Module Scan (HPCM & PCM): Please pull all stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), specifically looking for internal circuit faults, startup failure triggers, or communication drops within the Hybrid Powertrain Control Module (HPCM) and Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
  • Drive Motor Inverter Module Investigation: Check for internal voltage fluctuations or inverter faults linked to the Inverter Module (Part # NZ6Z-7B012-B).
  • Accelerator Pedal Assembly & Wiring Harness: Inspect the electronic Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor (APPS) connections and check for any shorted, pinched, or exposed wiring harnesses along the powertrain circuit that could trigger a permanent failsafe shutdown.
  • High-Voltage System and Battery Integration: Review the high-voltage battery junction box and electrical lines for any sudden drops in voltage, contactor issues preventing engine startup, or communication errors between the hybrid battery system and the combustion engine.
Please note that this vehicle is under the 8-year / 100,000-mile federal threshold for major hybrid components. Because these critical electronic control modules, startup power management systems, and power inverters are legally protected under Ford’s Hybrid & Electric Vehicle Unique Component Coverage, I expect all diagnostic findings to be thoroughly evaluated for warranty coverage eligibility.
Please provide a full, itemized diagnostic code report and a warranty coverage summary before executing any repairs.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this serious safety matter.
