Hello everyone,

I just joined the forum and as I have a '25 Maverick ordered I thought this would be a good place to spend some quality time. I'm a Ford person from way back and currently own, as a winter beater, a 2000 Ranger XLT 4x4 with well over 200K miles, which I've owned since 2003. I live in Michigan so the body is gone from 24 years of winter salt exposure (in spite of my best efforts). It's also about worn out mechanically and reached the point where it's now nickle-and-diming me constantly with both small and large issues. I'm planning to donate it when the Maverick comes in. My current daily driver is a 2013 Focus, which has been a great car, except for the dry clutches in the transmission that have been replace three times at Ford's expense. That transmission wasn't one of Ford's better ideas, IMHO. The Focus will be sold or traded when the Maverick comes in.

In terms of personal info, I'm retired, restore vintage Japanese motorcycles as a hobby (for my personal collection only) and my first name is "Kelly". And just so folks aren't confused by the first name, I'm male.

Welcome! I recently got my 2024 XLT and I love it! And I live in Michigan also. I'm in the upper peninsula so very familiar with winter and salt exposure.

I'm from Traverse City so just saying hi. I purchased a 2025 Maverick to replace my 2022 Maverick. Back in 2004 my Red Chevy 1994 S-10 died (One of the reasons I will never purchase another Red pickup or Chevy). Purchased a Focus and it was a great car. Then leased 2 Escapes before my Maverick. I guess you could say I'm a FORD gal now.

Nice! They are great little trucks. I had a 2008 Camry for sixteen years and was afraid I would miss it when I traded it in for the Maverick. Now I'm like Camry who?

I had a '95 S10 4x4 and though it was a nice truck, from a reliability perspective it was one of the worst vehicles I've ever owned. The issues weren't small either, transfer case rebuild, complete engine wiring harness etc. All this on a low mileage vehicle.

And thank you for the warm welcome, everyone!

As others have said, welcome to the MTC board! The Maverick is a great little truck.

I had a 94 Ranger for 27 years and 353k miles until I bought my 22 Maverick off the lot in March 22. I then ordered a 2023 and sold my 2022 to my dad who absolutely loves it.

So… what did you order - XL, XLT, etc color? Options? Just curious…..

I traded in a 2014 Focus when we got our Maverick as well. I have never been so glad to be rid of a car! Those transmissions were something else, just a constant source of stress while driving.

yes! Worst vehicle. Air leaked from my Air conditioner, and it would be a high pitch whine. my engine quit and I just turned over 50,000. Also, I should have walked away when I said to the saleman, "why does the steering wheel seem off"? It wasn't centered with my body, more to the left. I think his answer was "all vehicles are like that". But the price was great! $10,000 brand new. I just had to add cruize and I was golden.

Welcome to the club, hopefully your the first pic of a 25 here on the forums. I too live in Michigan and love driving my maverick in the winter. Also traded in a focus for my maverick, I got around the transmission problems since mine was a ST with the manual 6 speed, it was so fun to whip around town in it during summer not so much in the winter. It's a pretty good community here very informative on all things Maverick.

Gee, I've never had a personal welcome from a major vehicle manufacturer before, and we've bought our share of new vehicles over the years. That's a nice touch!

I'm now on my third set of clutches since I've owned the car, which is eight years. It's out of extended warranty and though it's starting to show signs of failing again, shuddering under acceleration, I'm hoping it holds together long enough for me to move it along. I will inform the new owner, whomever that is, of the issue.

XLT, AWD hibrid, most major options except towing package (don't tow)... that is, I got the lux package, Ford360, etc. Ruby red metallic, standard interior. Going to have a spray on bed liner and hard tri-fold tonneau added either by the dealer of locally.

I have an observation regarding vehicle colors. Maybe 75 percent of the modern vehicles on the road today are one of four colors, at least in my area. Black, white, silver or grey, my wife's included. Perhaps this is because of the upcharge on some colors, but that's pure speculaton on my part. I like brighter colors, especially red, even if it's an upcharge.
