For your first question I don't believe so. Some vehicles are pulled aside for random QA checks and test drives but it would be impossible for Ford to test drive every vehicle that comes off the line.

For your second question yes the factory operates when possible 24/7/365. Now because of Covid and parts availability that hasn't always been the case but when possible Ford wants the factory running at all times even on holidays like Christmas and New Years.

Ours was actually built over Christmas. It started production on the 22nd and finished on the 29th.

test run? Well each Maverick is driven off the factory floor to the next stage, driven onto the trains, off the trains so Yeah they get tested.

A few are picked at random for quality checks at the factory and are driven several miles. A tag is left in the vehicle with the miles driven for the quality checks. Those and the other vehicles are to be given short test drives as part of the pre-delivery inspection performed by the dealer.

I don't know for sure if the factory is running weekends or not but I believe they currently are if and when possible.

I retired from Ford as a Roll Test inspector. EVERY vehicle that comes off the line is driven on a dynamometer (roll tester) where everything is computer is monitoring everything in the engine, transmission, etc. We also would check every light and electrical function (wipers, a/c, radio, etc) If everything passes it then goes to final inspection where it is looked over thoroughly under bright lights, then goes through water test where it is checked for any leaks. Trust me, Ford would much rather find any faults while in the factory so they can correct them. Repairs made under warranty at the dealership is very costly. Plus, believe it or not, Ford wants every car or truck produced to be perfect. Ford and its employees take pride in their workmanship and want to build the best vehicles in the world. I went over my Lariat hybrid very closely with a trained eye and could find absolutely nothing wrong with it. Very well built, a very happy customer!

LOL. Dearborn Assembly, F150, if they could get away pushing onto rail car or delivery truck it was good to go.

I can't tell if you're just making a joke at the OP's expense (and mine as well, I suppose) but I sure hope you're a straight shooter and that all of Mavericks live up to their potential.

I am totally serious. As someone who worked 30 years building Fords I just want to enlighten some of the members of this group about the process and hope to help them understand and appreciate how their vehicles get built. There are no shortcuts taken and quality is the driving factor every step of the way.

Yet Ford is among the brands with the highest cost of ownership in the first 10 years, from just about every source I've looked up. Guess we'll have to ask the engineers about this, not the people making them.

If I felt that way I would sure not be buying a Maverick or any other Fords and would probably not even want to be a member of this group.

It's not about feelings, those are fickle, it's about data collected by multiple sources from Ford vehicle owners. Of course one does need to keep in mind that people who have negative experinces are more likely to report their issues, but that also means that the brands with the lower cost of ownership reports have far fewer complaints over all.
