I purchased some sound deadener "strips" for my 2025 Maverick XLT truck. Where is the best and EASIEST place to install the material? I'm nearly 76 and I'm thinking I won't be able to get into some places on my truck. Where will I get the BEST sound reduction? (I've had 30+ surgeries, including 2 brain surgeries... so my mind - nor body... doesn't work like it used to. 😥) THANKS!!! I REALLY enjoy reading the posts on this forum.

You could put some in-between the windshield and the dash. I don't know how wide the strips are, but they should fit.

Sorry, my limited mind doesn't understand. (I actually have a PhD... but brain surgeries killed my understanding. 😡) Between the windshield and the dash... exactly where are you talking about. I'm not understanding... on top of the dash??? Sorry...

What "strip" product are we talking about? Is it the usual self-adhering rubber mat stuff, or something else?

With the exception of partially applying it behind the rear seat, just about every meaningful location will require the removal of interior trim panels. Are you willing/able to do that?

To me, many of those panels are "easy," but I doubt you and I are calibrated the exact same. You can find videos of how-to on Youtube to get an idea.

In my mind, removing the plastic trim below the rear window and the front/rear door panels are all "easy." Putting sound deadener on the backside of the door cards will go a long way without having to mess with the window regulators.

More like in-between the glass and the actual physical dashboard. There should be a small gap that you can stuff some into. For me I have cheap window sealer foam stuffed in there to help reduce the rattling noise.

OK, I'll see if I can find a way to do that.

Any place my big pieces would work? If not, I can send them back to Amazon.

I had a "friend" who suggested the expanding foam and putting it under the rear seat. I'm thinking that would expand too much. They make some that doesn't expand... think that would work to spread it under the seat?

Most likely not. You might need to take @Carlitos_92 advice and put them inside the frame panels. Unless you wanted to cut all of them into tiny strips and put them up by the window.

At the very least, they should work behind the rear seat as mentioned. Though I don't have any experience with that product, so I don't know how flexible it is. People have definitely used adhesive foam sheets inside doors and other places, but at some point thickness might be an issue.

Absolutely not. Putting expanding foam into any interior cavity is asking for trouble.

On my 2026 2.0 Lariat, my rear exhaust droned so much in the rear of the cab. In my ear's opinion anyway. When my son rode with me for the first time and also thought it was annoying, I knew I had to do something. I did not eliminate it, but knocked it down a lot so I hear more tire noise than drone. The biggest improvement was the tin under the rear seat's storage. The rear side plastic trim pieces at the rear door entryway popped off pretty easily as did the two halves of the storage compartment. The tin sounds like a drum underneath there. I used Siless Max 120 mil (3mm). Here is the Amazon link:

When applying sound deadening material, you need to roll it. There are a lot of free YouTube videos on applying the material. I used these 3 rollers from Amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CLRBXPDS?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1&th=1
I left space around the holes in the tin where the plastic anchors go to prevent them from not reseating. I also kept going up the back of the cab. There is a black rectangular plastic housing at the bottom of the rear cab wall. DO NOT put any material over that. It is a vented outlet for relieving air pressure inside the cab when you close a door. My F-150 had something similar. I have not done my doors and am not brave enough to. Doors are not 100% water proof and I do not want to inhibit drainage of any water. I am going to drop the plastic liners in my wheel wells later and had deadener to the back side of the liners at a later time to knock down tire noise, but it is not as bad as the factory exhaust in my opinion.

To only be so blessed. Sometimes "the better half" is louder than anything else in the car...... I just turn up the radio (in my head) and cruise on mate! 😄

Man.... as annoying as sometimes it can get, Id be lost without it! 😉

And then there is us older folks who had vehicles before A/C was standard. Windows were always down when travelling, and engine noise was very desirable. Those V-8's were much less annoying than 4 and 6 bangers. If the exhaust system had droning, you couldn't hear it.

It installs on the front edge of the rear passenger doors.
This is what I ordered from Amazon specifically cut for the Maverick. The top is tapered. I had trim 3" off the bottom.

It's hard to see but it makes a nice seal.
