My Lariat will (if it ever gets here) have NAV, but I will also have my trusty Garmin with me at all times. When the screen in the truck freezes or goes out, I will still have help.
my old grey haired sync nav never freezes or goes out. but then again I never plug in a phone app.

Anyone switch out their sync to sync 3 to get the navigation option. As of now the navigation package is only available on the Lariat. Anyone who has compared satellite navigation to cellphone based navigation knows how much better the satellite navigation is.
We use a Garmin with lifetime maps. . . My dealer told me that Ford is going to stop putting navigation in their vehicles because people are using their phones (or something else). If that's true, I can't help but think that Ford is not doing much new development for a product they are going to stop providing.

I have a 23 Lariat Luxury hybrid that I got in March and came with Sync 3 navigation. The newest map update to Navigation is still at lest two years out of date. A road that was constructed about two and a half years ago, and I drive twice a day, isn’t on there and shows me driving in the middle of nowhere. In getting GPS directions for businesses that have been built on this road, they are nowhere to be found. Also in getting directions, it avoids these roads and takes you along the old roads, adding ten to 15 minutes to the drive for other businesses that have been around. All this is an area I’m familiar with so who knows about the rest of the country as to what is not in the Navigation data base. Sync Navigation would not be a selling point for me anymore. I tried talking with Ford and the software update I have is the latest. I just use Apple Maps, Google Maps and Waze with CarPlay.

I have a 22 Lariat and put a Garmin in it and love it. It is up to date, also shows my speed when it is hard to see the speedometer and tells me how many minutes it will take me to get home from previous locations. It also lets me know when going through school zones, so if I miss the signs, I can slow down.
BTW, I sold my second Slingshot a while ago and stopped riding due to age related problems getting in and out of it.

Spook: Have a Gramin in our RAV and one in the Slingshot. I think one of the best features is to be able to program a destination while sitting in my recliner. Being able to go from car to Slingshot to bike beats an in-dash unit.

No voice function for the navigation? Feels like going backward 10 years. Guess I will just use Android Auto and Google Maps.

I have multiple cars with factory Nav, my Apple Care Play Nav is just as good and is Sat based too. I am very please with this set up.
