Mystery Button on Steering Wheel

I'm old school and I generally prefer hard copies to a screen, especially a cell phone screen.
Maybe it was due to all those decades of slaving away coding on a mainframe terminal.

A cell copy is an option as you state, it's just one to tolerate rather than like in my case.

Much easier on hard copy to initially go thru and I just red inked through all the section headers that didn't apply, in the opening index too.
Didn't even glance at those sections on initial read thru getting familiar with MY truck.

I guess PDF with the right program, you can delete pages and resave, for the same effect - or better keep but red block through the ones that don't matter.

Well I've keeping an eye this thread because I wanted to see if anyone actually know what that button does. It appears nobody knows.
It is the "Find the shortest distance between me and Waldo" button. Page 7 of the 10 page 1972 Ford Maverick User's Guide.

Being old school doesn't mean you can't learn anything new, it means you appreciate things from and with a historical perspective.
Your pasted image of "Supercar" brings back memories.
Considering it could be driven on a road, sail across a lake like a boat, submerge like a submarine, be flown in the sky like a jet aircraft, and go into orbit, it had even more options than a Maverick Tremor. Here is the intro video.

Actually anyone who reads this thread (or the owner's manual) would know that the button is the setting for the adaptive cruise control gap distance on those models so equipped..

The button is only active when the Cruise Control is active.

On my 2025 Mav Lariat the spacers appear on the console screen. Up to 4 bumps. I usually leave it at 4 unless there is a bunch of traffic, then the gap needs to tighten. The hands free lane centering is a joke. Like self driving cars. Not today and not in the snow belt.
