RDU is so easy. Although I have a 1.5 inch lift which gives a bit more clearance, No jack needed. Simple hand tools and $8 fluid pump.. Boom

One more reason why I am changing the PTU fluid at 5K and RDU fluid at 10K and every 10K or 3 years after that. Oil and fluids are dirt cheap even by today's standards when compared to an out of warranty repair such as this.

Not sure what you mean? My FL dealer did a hard sell on me for an extended warranty which I did not buy. Does that mean I can’t get one now (2500 miles)?
You can get one any time as long as your truck is under warranty BUT the longer you wait the more it cost I waited a year on my 22 FX4 and it cost me more than if I got it when it was new, they go by year and mileage. Their are tons of posts on where to go to get discounted, all online and done in 10 min. I paid half of what my dealer wanted and you can use your Ford points if you still have them [200.00] this is the first one I have ever bought in 55 years of driving and countless new vehicles bought, I just had a feeling I would need it. I think their was a dealer in FL selling them $50 over cost, just do search tons of posts on subject.

Life time power train warranty is normal part of most dealership Sales. They are purchased from a third party vendor and part of your purchase price. But you must keep the paperwork provided at sale because normal corporate greed will find a way not to cover relative failure. My long life has repeatedly experienced warranties do not work for the consumer. My brother had the opposite opinion and purchased every warranty thrown at him. He was poor and afraid of consequences of not doing so. He had a FORD engine failure. Local dealership did not HONOR warranty. He when to another dealership and they tore engine down and found corroded cylinders. Your vehicle is treated differently depending on where you have a warranty not. Consumer always the victim no matter what.
