Sometimes it makes the day go better when you fire a bad customer.

IJust wondering but what are you trying to get out of them? If you haven’t been scheduled there’s really nothing they can tell you.
Plenty of others in the same boat. I’m not a fan of dealers but they really can’t tell you much and asking them for updates over and over again isn’t going to net you much.
When you say "no contact" - how many times did you reach out to them BEFORE tweeting? After 7 months with no contact, I started including my dealer, @jimhudsonford
on my tweets to @mrlevine (New Products for Ford)... after 4 tweets here is the response…

you had to post this? No wonder they blocked you, you sound like a extremely annoying individual. I’m sure the dealer loves being bothered about one of the lower priced vehicle they sell and they have no control over. Call ford direct if you have questions or put on your big boy pants and go to the dealer in person. After 7 months with no contact, I started including my dealer, @jimhudsonford

The last car I ordered was a Subaru WRX back at the end of 2014. It took almost 6 months from the time I ordered it to the time it got to the dealer. In that time I was notified once by Subaru Corporate to say that my order wouldn't be completed for the 2015 model year and was being converted to a 2016. Why on earth would I expect any communication beyond that? I wouldn't have even expected Subaru to tell me that I was getting a 2016, had I shown up and they were like "oh, by the way, it's a 2016" I would have still dropped off my check and drove away in my new car unphased. I just don't get it, we're in a freaking pandemic with GLOBAL supply chain shortages that are talked about every single day on the news. Why do people need to be coddled? I'm sure if you call Ford corporate and they're like "yeah, for the 211th time your order is in the system waiting to be scheduled" that's on you but what does the dealer have to do with production scheduling? Nothing. I just don't get it.........I feel like dealers should be able to at least check in with customers to update them about what's going on, even if there are no specific news, because most customers probably aren't forum lurkers (or are they?). Why is it bad to callout a dealer that offers pretty much no "service" to someone who placed an order?
My dealer contacted me zero times about my order over 7 months, but I contacted them a lot to check on it, and they had less information than I had from our crowd-sourcing on this forum. I was kind of peeved about that, that they never checked in to let me know that my order was still good but waiting on XYZ from Ford. I received no service, basically.
They are still sending me all kinds of requests to review them online but I don't really want to do it because even though I got my order as agreed, I really didn't feel like they cared at all if I bought it or not. So I don't want to bash them for the 'lack' of service, since I did actually get the order as agreed. I guess this comes down to "what do we expect from a dealer"? I expected more, personally.
I dunno we're in a weird time and this is my first full new car experience but I expected a bit more customer service for blowing a lot of G's on a vehicle. I guess they blocked him because they interpreted his tweet as toxic, but on the other hand another dealership might have followed up instead to inquire why a customer is feeling that way, and showed they gave a shit.
Sounds like you got some clear communication and knew what to expect. I'm guessing OP got zero communication, but I could be wrong. If we go back in time, Ford basically said customers should expect a Fall delivery. A lot of this is on Ford, I feel like they really did mess up their line of communication in general on the Maverick -- either most dealers didn't get clear information, or ignored/never passed on the communication they got. I dunno, but it definitely has been a fackin mess. The last car I ordered was a Subaru WRX back at the end of 2014. It took almost 6 months from the time I ordered it to the time it got to the dealer. What more clear communication could I have needed? I ordered it, they said they thought 6 months and would contact me when it was ready to be picked up. I didn't think about it too much and just waited for them to call me and went on living my life...........what could calling them regularly have done? Do you think they would have called the plant in Japan and said in their best Japanese "Where is fakecowboy's WRX?????" I think there are toooooooo many people on this forum who are so used to getting instant gratification. I think too many people have grown up with getting every little thing they want and need delivered in two days or less via Amazon prime. I think there are too many people who are so used to wanting shitty mcdonalds food and having it delivered to their doorstep so they don't have to stop playing whatever stupid video game they're playing and they are just completely accustomed to instant gratification. Just leave it alone, there are so many manufacturing hurdles right now, if Ford has said that your order is in the system LEAVE IT THE HELL ALONE and just wait to get an email saying your truck is in production or in transport or whatever. I didn't even have anything like that when I ordered my Subaru, it just showed up one day out of the blue. Some people are soo damn spoiled and entitled.Sounds like you got some clear communication and knew what to expect. I'm guessing OP got zero communication, but I could be wrong. A dealership has influence over how many allocations it has. Calling attention to this antiquated, opaque system is a worthwhile action.Called the dealer out for what specifically? What does the dealer have to do with Ford scheduling his truck for production?
The system is not antiquated, it works by funneling product to the high volume dealers and keeping Ford customers in bulk out of the competition's offerings. It's how Ford and all of the other manufacturers stay afloat. I love how something that is successful is considered not a success because it doesn't directly cater to one person's best interests. Ford's stockholders appreciate their allocation system.A dealership has influence over how many allocations it has. Calling attention to this antiquated, opaque system is a worthwhile action.
Hmm. Let's compare shareholder returns between auto companies with and without the dealership allocation system over, say, the previous 5 years. The system is not antiquated, it works by funneling product to the high volume dealers and keeping Ford customers in bulk out of the competition's offerings. Show me the numbers......... Ford stock has gained over 80% in value over the last year, not even Tesla can touch that. There aren't many publicly traded Auto manufacturers so I'm thinking you don't really know what you're talking about. Tesla is way overvalued anyway. Ford stock will continue to go up as they continue to become a force in the EV market.Hmm. Woah, there. I didn't mean to contribute and insult, or content either, really. I'm sorry that came off that way. Just trying for a laugh.Called the dealer out for what specifically? What does the dealer have to do with Ford scheduling his truck for production?
It can matter unless they put them all at the name number which this dealer does. I get that. What priority did you want him to put on it? Priority 10-19 does not matter.
