So the Maverick Lariat LUX/FX4 was finally delivered.
I took it for a test drive, Experienced the Audio, Handling and power of the Truck.
And due to that I walked away:
The handling was worse than the 1996 Mercury Villager that we traded in earlier this year,
The B&O was disappointing, Better stock audio in the 2021 Nissan Frontier
The Cabin felt way too small( the best way that I can explain it is to put your desk chair all the way up, throw a few pillows on the chair and scoot up to your desk and use it) while width was fine, it was too short.
While it may be great for some, I was not the right truck for me, The truck bar was set low I was mentally comparing it to my First truck 1974(ish) Ford F100, the Old ford with manual steering and none of the advanced technologies it had less body roll.
I feel that this is a good truck, but the dash location was not the right design for me.
Audio is Fixable, but who wants to spend hundreds of dollars on a New Vehicle?
Handling, Well a couple of thousand of dollars in the hopes that it will be a good pavement Queen,
This not to bash on the truck ,or to invalidate the opinions of Very satisfied owners, But a quick review from a 6ft 1in 270lbs potential buyer, that could not look past the items that made it either uncomfortable/ unacceptable, that were the make or break for the type of commute I do 40 - 50 min each way.
And yes I know that I will get hate for this.
I have been in contact with one of the other Tacoma, WA members and let them know that the truck was here.
***EDIT***
The audio source used was a Thumb Drive with a selection of MP3's of a know audio quality.
It has Spoken word/ Rock/ Pop/ Classical/ and artist Vocals both male and female, that cover Clean to Death metal growls.
it is the same setup that I use when picking speakers for home use, and or when i was purchasing speakers for the 07 Focus.
If you have any questions about this please feel free to ask.
