Apologies for the click baitish title. Two weeks ago had my battery replaced under warranty. Brand new Ford branded AGM. Since then the productivity screen has been saying either A.S.S is not available because it was too cold or it was charging. Mostly too cold. Yesterday it was in the 50's and the A.S.S. was working perfectly. About a dozen times or so. This is the first time in the six months I have owned this truck it has worked that good.

I dunno, we'll see. I've been blaming the BMS all along but maybe I did have a defective battery from the factory.

Are you happy the auto start/stop is working?
I find it to be nearly the most annoying thing about modern vehicles
Luckily it’s able to be turned off permanently via forscan

I've had my Maverick a couple months now and have never see ASS kick in. I can't say that I'm disappointed but curious as to why. I thought maybe it's because I had the heat or AC on. Is there a screen that tells you why it's not coming on?

I'm happy the reason it was not working was fixed or appears at this point to be fixed. Clearly, something was not right when the display kept saying A.S.S. is not functioning due to system charging when the temps were above 32F and clearly I had driven enough to charge the battery. Turns out the battery was found to be defective which would have led to an early demise anyway.

It works much smoother than on my wife's Jeep.

Go into settings on your productivity screen and select auto start. For me it was either system charging or temps too cold. Like you it basically only worked the first few days I owned the truck then nothing. A diagnosis showed the battery was bad and dealer replaced it. No problem.

While I agree that A.S.S. can be a pain in the ass (no pun intended) knowing there was an underlying reason causing this failure was something I could not live with on a 6 month old truck.

A/C could potentially cause A.S.S. not to function but since I got the new battery I've been using the heat, seat and wheel heaters with no issues. Way too early up here for A/C.

Like you, I replaced my old battery with an AGM (however, I bought my Interstate battery from Costco) and reset the BMS. I did have some improvement. When I reset the charge level from 80% to 95% using ForScan, my Mav now is not having any battery issues!

Yep, wouldn't be a problem if it would stay off (button memory) unless you pushed the button again like the brake hold button. The seatbelt nag chime & graphic turned off is nice also.
