I just checked my dealer last night after work and sure enough, my order is finally here! 2025 Maverick Lariat Hybrid AWD in Eruption Green. This is my first time seeing it in this color and it's my order! Man does it look good! Just seeing it underneath the lights was enough to convince me that I made the right color choice. Sometimes it looks yellow when the light hits it right. It has a bit of a yellow hue to it. I'm gonna head over to the dealer this morning and work out some numbers to see if I can take delivery. I'll only do it if it's affordable enough. If not, I'll let it pass. I'm crossing my fingers. Wish me luck!

Did you order a Maverick without a sales agreement (DORA)?

No. I was very well aware of the price. I just underestimated what my payment was going to be. I figured since the price difference between this new one and my current FX4 is only $1700, it would translate into a similar payment that I have now. Unfortunately, with the higher rates since my last purchase and with no incentives on Mavericks, the payment nearly doubled. It was nowhere near where I wanted it to be so I passed.

All good, always make good financial decisions and don't get caught up in having latest and greatest. Remember that cars are a depreciating asset.

Did they low ball you on your trade in ?

I want to say yes but my sales manager sent me two pics of what Carvana and Carmax would offer. Carvana offered $29,800 and Carmax offered $31,000. My dealer offered me the Carmax price but I know that's a bit low. Just the night before, I looked up the KBB value and searched my license plate so that way I get my exact vehicle and not a general one. Their median trade-in value is just over $35,000. When I told them that, they said that KBB is not what they use and that my current vehicle is "too new" to be valued anyway which is total b.s. This is what my sales guy said before the used car sales manager texted me the Carvana and Carmax values.

Classic dealer move.
Use whatever pricing will benefit them the most. If KBB was lower , that's what they would use.

Yup. Another thing that hurts too is that their business model is "upfront pricing" and "no dealer fees" which leads me to believe that you can't negotiate. You pay the upfront price and nothing more or less. I'm sure if I went to another dealer, they would've been more willing to negotiate. And who knows, maybe they would've offered me something higher? I doubt it because unfortunately, most dealers are like this. It's the name of the game.

That’s unfortunate I’ve got the same vehicle and I’m loving it even though efficiency is no where near stated.

As much as I love EG - I never had my Bronco in the winter and the salt stands out on it like a MFer. Azure Gray probably the choice for Lariat.

No where near stated, huh? What are you getting on average out of curiosity?

First half tank was 25.3mpg. This one is looking like 27.5mpg
That's it, huh? I know you've only had it for a short time so it's probably still building up mpgs as it gets broken in. As it sits now, that's not any better than an Ecoboost.

For me it is because I filled the EB with 93 so it’s a big difference. I change oil at 1k miles on all new vehicles and that should coincide with slightly warmer temps so we will see how it goes.

Yours is the 25 if I recall. Cold + not being broken in isnt doing you any favors.

My winter cold tanks with 50/50 highway display 31-32 , hand calculated ~7% lower. Yours seems about right for being new.

@MightyMaverick would it be worthwhile to order through Granger for the cost savings?
Did you shop around for rates?

I also think walking away was the right thing.
Looks like they are jerking you around and once I get that feeling (real or imaginary) I bail out then and there.

I recently sold my 22 Maverick using KBB pricing and sold to a private party. I did not accept Carvana, Carmax or a couple dealer offers. I sold 2 Mavericks on Facebook with excellent results. My 25 should be built week of 10 Feb and ok being truckless for a few weeks since I wanted to sell my 22 Mav before the end of the year when pricing starts to reflect its another year older.
