Mud flaps and poor mileage

Installed Ford mudflaps on 2.0L XLT AWD at about 600 miles. MPG was up to 31 before, but now only getting 28+ under similiar driving conditions. Wondering if anyone else experienced this.

No mudflaps XLT AWD 4kT and barely clinging onto 22mpg soooo could always be worse?

Never heard of mudflaps causing mileage decreases but I suppose anything is possible - Ford's OEM flaps are stiff yeah?

I added mud flaps and no change in mileage.

I installed the rokblokz, and I'd say a 1-2 mpg difference on the highway. A little disappointing, but I hope that when I go up in tire size I wont notice as much of a mpg hit since I already took an aero with the flaps in the same space(if that makes sense) Still can squeeze out 30-31 on the highway vs 32-33 before the flaps so still better than epa.(65-78mph)

XLT, FX4, 4K. stock wheels and tires. (the 225 pirelli)

Seems like the mav is on a pretty fine edge performance wise. I lose 5 mpg just kicking the a/c on.

You sure the gas is the same? Some places add more ethanol in certain parts of year- I can never remember whether that's summer or winter.

There was a thread a month or two back some guy complaining he put big wide tires and flaps on and his mileage wasn't close to EPA..

I put Rokblokz on mine & didn't notice any difference, I also made sure they didn't stick out any farther that the tires, having them hanging out past the tires might cause an aerodynamic issue. My combined MPG over the last 3000 miles is 31.
