I was wondering if any body noticed this. I live in the area of the villages Florida. To dive a round it’s 35 to 45 mph. I thought I was getting shell gas but after the second tank I noticed this. When the engine is running to charge the drive battery, going flat and level or slight down hill the power meter is showing needle with above 0 and the not meter is showing from 25 to 30 mpg. The mpg does not go above 30 mpg. It use to go to about 40 maybe just above. I use to get about 40 to 43 mpg. Now I’m lucky to get 38 mpg. It will run electric, then hen gas starts mileage drops. Any ideas?
Thanks.

Sumner fuel mix,
Time for an air filter,
Tire pressure low,
Did you switch to less efficient tires.
Carrying too much unused crap, Did ya fill all your cubbies with stuff you’ll never use?

I am in Florida I dove it early in the morning and the car acted the same way. I also lived in Georga and it was hit there. It was fine there also. Was averaging 42 or so a tank.

As tires wear down their circumference gets smaller. Takes more revolutions per mile.

I’ve always wondered if that could be a factor.

In the finicky world of Hybrid tech it just might be something to,,,,

If it is under warranty I would have the dealer look into it at the next oil change.

I recently had a problem with mpg and got a lot of excuses and options. Even asked the dealer to check it while there for an oil change. Disappointed with their response as it was my driving habits change (which didn’t). My hybrid has 27k and something has changed but I don’t know what yet. Have been looking into the quality of gas and amount of ethanol included as a possible cause.
