It's just a matter of time before Chinese Ford and Chinese BYD and Indian Tata are available for purchase in Merkuh. Among other brands. This is not a BAD thing. They all still need to meet Merkun requirements (as mentioned), and will open up a whole new world of lower price vehicles for consumers. I mean, really, quality isn't anything to brag about with Ford, GM, etc, anymore. There really is no reason to be "brand loyal" other than maybe your cousin owns stock in the company or something.Yeah we need a Chinese Ford sold here. There is a reason it is NOT sold in the US, like emissions, airbags, other regulations.
The Toyota cheap pickup, if ever introduced, will sell like hotcakes, to use an old-person phrase. Probably not the Slate, since it has both a small cab and small bed, but it will be a perfect fit for some people. It's not about brand name, it's about cost. That was the main motivation for most people to buy the Maverick, myself included. If a company, any company, puts out a $20k "pickup" similar to the Maverick, it will flood the market. Heck, by the middle of 2026 $20k in 2025 $ will be about $23-25k. And the Maverick XL with zero options will be close to $35k. And I suspect the F150 Raptor will be over $175k. These are interesting times.
