Pros:
MPG! Even with the lift kit and tires I still average just under 25mpg. I drive most of the time in eco mode with auto start off.
You have eco mode!? My AWD doesn't have eco mode.

Good work with the adapters, but it always seems like the wheel wells are crowded with the bigger tires. Steelies just look right with that color too!
I agree. I love the look of the steelies as well, and originally I was going to keep the steelies and add bigger tires but the OEM steelies are heavy. These wheels are 5lbs lighter each and I wanted to keep as much MPG as possible.

All Mavericks come with Eco. It's one of the selectable drive modes.
Switching modes is pretty simple so I don't believe it's user error. I just hopped in my truck and went through the modes again. I do NOT have ECO mode as an option.

I even chatted with a Ford customer support person. They stated my truck did NOT come with ECO mode.

Bummer cause I could really use a few more MPG.

2022 Ford Maverick XL, Cactus Grey
2.0 Ecoboost with AWD and Tow Package

Add-ons: All weather floor mats, 110w outlet, spray in bed liner, and Ford roll up tonneau cover.

Mods: 2" Rough country lift kit, 15mm wheel adapters, Motegi mr139 wheels, Cooper Adventure AT3 tires 265/65r17, front window tint

The story up to now:

Put in my order at the end of October 2021 and received at the beginning of April 2022. After trading in my old car for more than what I paid for it and fighting with the dealer to remove a $10,000 mark up I finally had my Maverick. Before the first 1000 miles I installed the lift kit, wheels, and tires. Luckily I manage a fleet of vehicles so I have a shop where I can do all my own work. Many, many miles later, including long trips and city driving, I finally feel like it's time to share.
Really nice finished Maverick!
The perfect color for the Maverick when running dark wheels!!

I ordered the 1" lift since I too ordered the XL model. Was told when I contacted them that the 2" version was only for the 4WD version, which isn't an XL option. You're saying it'll work? Or could this be the modification to the rear you refer to...?

AWD is an option on the XL if you get the Ecoboost. And as long as you have AWD the 2" lift kit will fit. You don't need the FX4 package either

If you have an FX4, you have to use Forscan to enable Eco and Sport modes. They’re in the software, just disabled in favor of Mud/Ruts and Sand on FX4 equipped models. Plenty of us have all 7 modes enabled on ours now though.

I'm amazed how bigger tires change the aspect of this pickup. The stock tires are just too small.

Nice build, awesome truck. Btw, love the sticker. It's the kind of thing that keeps me giggling for some time when I see on the road.

I figured it was done with Forscan. But; I also thought I was lacking knowledge of my own truck. I'll be the first to admit I glanced at the owner's manual the first two weeks. And I still refer back to the window sticker to remind myself of the options it came with.

I assume warranty is voided if you use ForScan?

265/65 would be somewhat wide on the Maverick. I imagine that is why you trimmed, rubbing when turning lock to lock? Would think the lift got you clear from the diameter / height increase...

Tires/rims can make a huge deal on a base model truck.
Just look at the difference of my base 06 Frontier XE, before and after. (1 1/2" lift and tires from 235/75 15 to 265/70 16). Literally a different truck.. Even more pronounced when I have the cap off.

Ford Maverick Mods, Review & Experience so far... 2" lift kit, 15mm wheel adapters, Motegi mr139 17" wheels, Cooper Adventure AT3 tires, front window tint 2006NissanFrontierAlamosMural

Pros:
MPG! Even with the lift kit and tires I still average just under 25mpg. I drive most of the time in eco mode with auto start off.

Interior space! I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of interior space this truck has. Standing at 6'3" I have plenty of room and very comfortable. I've also had full grown adults in the back, even with my seating position.

Ride quality! This thing works like a truck but rides like a car. I've made several long trips in this thing all over California (if you live here you know how bad the roads are) and this truck makes it easy to keep on going comfortably.

Cons:
I know these are more like nit picks but I feel should be shared...

Auto stop start needs to go! Taking care of a fleet of vehicles with this option, I have seen the down sides. Charging issues when having to use external electrical equipment, batteries going bad within 2 years, and shortening starter life. Simple fix in my opinion would be when you start the truck it's automatically turned off and the button would instead turn on the system if you want to use it.

Sound deadening! I know it's not the case for all models but I know my XL is missing foam in the front fenders. I feel that small of a thing should be standard.

Something else I feel should be standard, or at least a stand alone option is CRUISE CONTROL! I will be adding it some time soon but I feel that should be standard on all vehicles in 2022.

Mods:

For the lift kit, wheels and tires I had to get a bit creative. I ordered the lift kit the same day I picked up the truck from the dealership. Rough countries 2" lift was my go too because I've used their stuff in the past and have been happy with it. But I did have to make some tweaks to the rear spacers and the instructions weren't 100%. I'm sure they have fixed these issues by now but kinda expected based on the price and how new the kit is.

The wheels and tires I had already from my old car and wanted to save money. I heard early on that 265/65r17s were possible but Ford chose a non standard bolt pattern that almost ruined my money saving scheme. I've ran adapters and spacers on several of my older vehicles so I'm very comfortable with using them. The Motegis have a offset of +40 so I knew I didn't have much wiggle room. I found some 15mm adapters that were going to be my best option but that means more modification.

IMG_6704.jpeg

I had to add 2mm of additional space to the back side of the wheels so the original studs could poke through.

IMG_6713.jpeg

Once I got the lift on and wheels fitted I then had to deal with clearance issues. I have no pictures to show but I had to cut out inner fender liner as well as cut and weld the inner pinch weld. After an alignment it was good to go!

In the end I am very happy with this truck and plan on modding it more further down the line.

Thank you to all the awesome members of this forum! All the early technical info and modifications you guys have posted here has helped me a lot. So as a thank you, here is a photo dump of my truck! Enjoy

Why did you have to modify the wheels? Were they not the 5x108? I'm looking at buying these exact wheels but not if I've got to modify.

Sorry late posted and already replied to, my bad.
FX4 and Tremor XLTs or Lariats don't have ECO mode due to the inclusion of the off-road modes.
