My power chair was delivered today. It was off loaded from the van and then pushed into my house using an 8 foot wheelchair ramp. The van floor was about the same height as the Maverick and 24 inches up into the house. , also a healthy strong back technician. My home ramp won't be done until Saturday.
They recommended a hitch mounted carrier. https://www.bruno.com/ca/scooter-lifts/out-sider-scooter-lift . If I HAD to use it EVERY time I went out, it might be an option. ($6995 Canadian)
Also for me, the weight capacity is 350 lbs and the power chair weighs 350 approx.

My plan now is to get an 8' wheel chair ramp, one that folds to 4' so it fits in the Maverick bed. Also a 12v winch to pull the chair up, and slowly roll it back to the ground.
I've got the truck bed and would rather have the chair in the bed rather than on a lift on the trailer hitch receiver. I just have to figure out how to secure the winch.

Thanks, I used to be handy. But not anymore. I will check them out. Looking at tge cost for Bruno and Harmar, they are both very pricey. Dont think I can spend three to five K on this. Had no idea they are that costly. Thank You.
Yeah unfortunately they aren’t cheap. I’d watch facebook marketplace for any in your area for sale used. Though the issue becomes finding someone to install it. And making sure you get everything needed.

If you have the ability to load it into the bed, it sounds like a much better way to do it. You would be over the hitch weight limit with most anything the chair can go on.

The scooter is pretty light. I would need to remove the seat and battery. Then it's possible.

Yeah a scooter isn’t the issue with a hitch mounted platform, I was replying to Ken L with his wheelchair.

I put the Harmar AL160 lift back on the Truck today. This thing is very heavy with the swing arm attached! It adds a couple feet to the length of the Truck but still fits in my garage!!

They are expensive! Fortunately for us the VA paid for it.

Great that they took care of you. They VA got my brother in law a lift and scooter too.
He goes to the VA for all his ailments. He gets great care there.
