Thatās definitely an option that has a low cost to it. May have to consider that if the wife wants to go along on some remote camping and I donāt want to take my little pop up.

Just seeing if anyone has put a rack and a roof top tent on one of the Ford branded caps, could be og as well, just drawing a blank on original manufacturer due to lack of sleep.
Pic of my truck for subject at hand.
Love this. Sorta wish I went that way. It is able to sleep two people somewhat uncomfortably. Lol. I went with a cap and raised floor to sleep on, because Iām 5ā5ā and can fit at an angle. Perhaps maybe Iāll go that way in the future.
Why not raise the tent to just under the tonneau cover...
I did the raised floor in sections. Easy to put in and take out. Three plywood sections and 3 cross bars. Ahead all wood sitting around, so no cost at the time.
This is done! Definitely more time than money into this one, and a little skin.
No pics really. But to summarizeā¦
Bought a cheap led 3rd brake light off eBay for a F150 2015-2020. Cut the connector off. Extended the connector long enough to reach the back, with extra to cut down. Connected it...
Done. Not fun. But doable. Unplugged the trucks 3rd brake light, plugged in the extension I made through the dome light. Not easy at all, very constricted, have skin rubbed off my rt wrist from the antenna. But itās done, now since this pic it is across the headliner to the back drivers side...
I have since gotten a cap. This is all for me to sleep in the bed. I made this post a while back before getting a cap, and while trying to research how to do cross bars. If I could delete this thread I would. The answer was right in front of me and saw it on another post.
This is my current...
Well I found a way to do it. Modern vehicles suck. Lol. So I bought a 3rd brake light off amazon for $15 and some change. Cheap enough for me to avoid the headaches of searching for the correct connector. Cut the connector off, extended it and put shielding on it. Originally struggled with...
I removed mine in the garage two weekends ago. Had help from my 19 year old son. We put 2x4ās under it and used ratchet straps to lift it. Drove out, backed back in with guidance. I do have exposed rafters, and spare wood around.
Without just plugging into a harness with a lead or T harness, if there are issues you have voided your warranty by doing that. While it still could void warranty if it fries the harness that is a separate issue. I have a plug and extended that so I can run it to the back. Problem is access to...
So I picked up an extra 3rd brake light off eBay to use the plug off of it and extend the wires. Did the extension. Was just going to unplug the factory 3rd brake light, plug in the and run it to the back. But couldnāt seem to get to the plug, really donāt want to take the headliner out, and...
Yeah I donāt see myself doing any of that. I did what I did because I wasnāt going to spend that kind of money on Ford accessories. And Iāll access the totes with the tailgate down. May put a rope on the back tote to get it out easier. And I fit inside with the tailgate and glass closed.
