Tailgate lift assist on lariat luxury

If you look for a small 3/8 rod inside the bottom center electric entry hole in the tailgate, lariat luxury has this tailgate torsion rod.

Mine needs 10 to 11 lb to lift the tailgate at the end according to a trigger gauge. I have SIBL.

Wondering if other trims have this.

Interesting, didn't realize there was any built in assist. Mind posting a photo? I need to make sure my lariat has it. Feels like I'm just 100% fighting gravity when I close the tailgate. It's not like it's super heavy, but I haven't noticed feeling any spring or torsion assist

Nevermind, I looked and think I found it. You can see it where the electrical cables go into the tailgate at the very bottom when it's opened

I'd love to see someone post a pic so I can figure out what you're talking about. Is this a discussion of the tailgate assist dampener/shock absorber-like thing that is sold as a $50 accessory Part No: VNZ6Z99406A10A? Wait a minute, after reading the title of this thread closely, I see it's a lift assist everyone is referring to, not one designed to slow the opening pictured below.
