Got my FX4 three weeks ago and this was first time I got it off the road. Was gonna do some forest service roads of varying difficulty that I know well to see how the truck and especially the OEM Pirelli's work, but do to a few big tree branches and a small tree fallen over the road in to the area it got cut real short. (My Jeep XJ would climbed over them, but the Mav' definitely wouldn't!)

So drove back out to the parking lot where all the dirt bike and UTV fellas usually unload and ripped it in the 8-9 inches of snow!

The difference driving modes all got tried. And even 'Slippery' managed to go thru most of it. It did however not like the bigger drifts of snow that gotten pushed up from others using the lot, but switching to 'Mud and Ruts' or 'Sand' disable the traction control (mostly) and give a must faster throttle input and then I could just plow thru and was easy to do donuts and drifting sideways.

The tires worked much better than this forum made them sound like in the snow and will stay on for awhile.

What did you do to your tow hooks to make them red? Paint?

I second that. My FX4 had no problem in the snow with those tires.
What is apparent to me is that there are some people who compare tires, amongst other things, and come to the determination that if they aren't the absolute best ever made then they are crap.
They don't seem to understand Good, Better, and Best. The Perellli's are Better tires.

Where at in Washington might I pass this Terrain mav? I'm leaving today to go pick up a Terrain Lariat that a buyer walked away from. I've seen all the colors in the wild except Terrain.
Is that Tiger? If so, then I know you a Norther.

Yup, some good old Rustoleum paint.
Looks a lot nicer with them red I think 😊

I'm in Tacoma. Only Mav' in this color the dealer sold (when I got mine) and I've never seen another, yet!
Was out in Capitol State Forest for this 'test'. Been around there alot and really like the wilderness on that side of the sound. Usually a lot less people vs. the cascade's!

I'm around the Rochester area but travel through a few counties a week.
Must be better up at cap forest in the winter than summer. Ever since hearing the zing of bullets flying up there, I don't frequent that place. We use to drive up and do the walk to the towers as that's good exercise for thee ol heart. You may just see another Terrain on your visits down this way (y)

Actually do quite a bit of firearm training out there too. But you have to makes sure you do it in a good spot, have a serious backstop right! Many people don't... which is a major problem!
I think the Terrain colors are going to be around more soon, since it's a good one! Been thinking of checking with some of the people on here how/if to figure out numbers built with aspects of build combination. Would be a fun thing to know.

C/State Forest was great back in the day. So much fun single tracking. Looking to move back to the PNW soon. Enjoy the Maverick -)

This has to be WA. Right? Pretty crazy being able to access the service roads in January lol. It's not been too bad in MT either (northeast basically lower Canada lol).

Indeed Washington state. Was not really snow with Montana measures (I'm guessing, never been to Montana...) !
The service roads higher up in the mountains aren't accessible here either, totally buried. Cap forest is only 1100 feet (at the lowest) or so.

I noticed when I put my mavy in sand mode the RPM's run pretty high and sliding thru the snow is wicked fun.
