Live in CT out in the suburbs. Park in the driveway. Always set a mouse trap baited with a dog food nugget on the rear passenger floor to see if mice can get in or not (long story). Well, I caught one after many months. Puzzled. Did another trap, same spot - this time a mouse ate the nugget without setting off the trap. They seem to have the ability to come and go as no stench has become apparent from a trapped dead mouse.

Anyone have experience with mice getting into the hybrid Maverick?
More importantly, how are they getting in?

Thanks.

My guess would be the vent flap. Behind the rear seat, down low if memory serves. I can see a mouse getting through there fairly easily.

Yep. Thank you. That's most likely it. Will check tomorrow. Thanks again.

Use peanut butter on the mousetrap, they have to work to get it off. I have have a mouse catcher on the job but sometimes have to worry about half a mouse somewhere.

FYI, since I have rats at my house have found they don't go somewhere UNLESS they smell the food? I trap them outside now, SAD to say I know WAY too much about rats but have a GREAT TRUCK!!!!!!!!! Have a great new year!!!!!!!!!

Used to live at edge of our hay field. Mice all over. I never set a mouse trap inside a car. First one in leaves a scent to be followed by others. I always set traps outside a car with scented mouse repellent inside. Never a good idea to invite a mouse to come your car.

Pest control is my job.

As others have stated, get them *before* they get in and your life is so much better.

All of our structural rodent control processes use outside bait stations as the primary line of defence. Any inside control devices we use are to catch the ones that get past the outside stuff.

FWIW a mouse only needs a 6mm hole to get in. 6mm is tiny. Surprisingly small.

Good luck!

Bread on the trap is a better option. Moisten it a bit and smash it in, set the trap and wait. You can also use the sticky pads. They work for all critters, even IT guys crawling under a desk to fix cable issues! Ruined one of my shirts!

Spray peppermint oil in the area where you park the Maverick. I had them getting through firewall area of the engine compartment. They got into my glove box and chewi the paper off straws that were in there. Also could have gotte in through the cabin filter. Peppermint oil works really well in repelling those little furry pains.
