It was a long time coming, but 313 days after ordering a 2023 Ford Maverick XLT Lux, I finally picked it up this past Wednesday. I finally had some time to take some beauty shots of him. May I present to you: Samwise Gamgee

(It's a small truck, so it must be a hobbit truck. And, Samwise acted as Frodo's pickup truck. He carried the supplies, and often carried Frodo both emotionally and physically.)

After driving it a couple days, the one thing that really bugs me is the speedometer. More specifically, how the speedo is marked. Numbers on the 20's, ticks on the 10's and nothing on the 5's. Gonna have to guess on all the speed limits that end in 5...

Oh, yeah... I got Samwise with 10 miles on him, so I've only driving 25 miles so far. I got a short commute. ;-)

I forgot about the digital speedo, I've been using the EV Coach as I learn how to best use a hybrid drivetrain and get a better feeling for the Hybrid "tach".

AFAIR the '22 did, but that was removed for the '23 model year. No biggie for me, I'm scheduled this coming Thursday at a local Line-X shop to get one with a lifetime warranty, thicker than Ford's SIBL, and going to try to get a color match to the orange accents in the cabin.

They will do a better job anyways. At least then it'll be totally sealed and the entire tailgate too. I was pulling my floor jack out the back and scratched the hell out of the bottom of the tailgate that isn't covered, so I'll be removing the tailgate and putting bedliner on that bottom portion.

I know about the speedo. On my little Buick Encore it also went to 140 and I only went over 90 perhaps once or twice. We'd get a lot better resolution if it only went to 100.

I was thinking the same thing when I got mine, I do use the digital most times, but the speedo would be better with a maximum number of 100 - 110, there would be more room to put 5mph increments on it & the numbers would be easier to read as they would be larger.

I also just picked up my Mav last Wednesday!!
Ordered on 4/2022 and received on 7/2023. Well worth the wait.
2023 Lariat Lux 2.0 fx4 4K AWD CG. Unfortunately, some changes were made for the 2023 models. So the Lux pack and copilot 360 are not the same as 2022. I lost a few features, but good thing I didn’t get charged.
