This is the result when someone rear ends you, luckily he wasn't going too fast (Lexus 470 2008), luckily I was able to drive home he had to be towed.
He did say he was at fault to the officer and got his citation, now to deal with his insurance, any suggestions??

Man that's rough.......sounds like you are ok though. I know that's little consolation when your brand new vehicle gets rear ended.

I am wondering whether inattentive drivers are seeing a truck in their peripheral vision and misjudging the distance do to the size of the maverick. They seem to get clipped often which again could be an "objects are closer than they appear" syndrome.

I'm glad that you're able to drive home. That means you're not hurt. That's good.

If his insurance is USAA, they're great to deal with. They took care of everything when I got a fender bender. Otherwise, you might want your insurance deal with his.

Glad you're okay. Be prepared to be informed that it is totaled based on some other rear-enders posted here that ended up having frame damage. Fight for true "replacement value" in this market - the price after taxes & fees you can go and purchase a similar vehicle now to replace yours (even at 10k markups --- they need to replace what you had, not what you owe/paid).

make sure you get all your stuff out before you take it to the bodyshop, you're probably not getting that back..... ever. Looks like those rear unibody sections tent to crumple pretty easily. That is what they are for but it sucks when someone you think is fixable ends up going to the scrap yard.
