Let me start off by saying if you're still waiting for a Maverick hold on, it will be totally worth it in the end. As a new Maverick owner I can't say how much I love driving this truck and doing truck stuff with it. I ordered a lariat hybrid from Pacifico Ford in Philadelphia and was one of a lucky few to get my order built. I picked up my truck on April 8 and have put a lil over 1,400 miles on it so far. I have done a road trip down to Charlotte NC that put on a good bit of miles off the bat.

Pros:
  • Fuel Milage
    • I am averaging around 41 ish mpg in both City and Highway roughly 60 40 split. I saw people getting great mileage but was weary that my driving style wouldn't be as good. However, 41 is awesome.
  • Seats
    • The seats on the lariat trim are so comfy. Everyone who has been in the truck (front and back) has only but positive things to say about it. The Brown Active X material looks and feels great.
  • Screen
    • After seeing the reviews and everyone talking about the screen, I think it's perfect. The screen is bright, and easy to manage while driving and Apple car play hasn't been an issue what so ever.
  • Adaptive Cruise control
    • Being able to take a road trip and the truck doing most of the driving is one of the greatest things I have ever done. It only makes me want full self driving down the road.
  • Paint Color
    • I love the Cactus Grey depending on the light it shows more green hues or grey. It is so different than what I'm used to and I love it.
  • Handling
    • This rides like a dream, on the highway its quite, in the city its quite, it takes bumps like a champ and is a fun truck to drive. I haven't had any issues passing people on the highway.
  • Duluth Trading dog cover
    • This fits perfectly and looks good in the back seat with the brown interior. (See picture)

Cons:
  • Slight pull/ out of balance issue
    • I have a slight pull, out of balance issue with one the wheels that I am trying to figure out. Could be from a pump in the road, it's not major and It seems that I'm the only one who notices it so far. So it could be my brain playing tricks on me? More to come in the next few days.
  • Quality issues
    • I attached an image of the head rest that looks like someone used a pen on it and missed the paper. While not a huge deal was kind of a bummer to notice it after I left the dealer. Also the front hood has unequal gaps on the left and right fenders. Again, not a huge deal breaker but it's the little things right?
  • Ford Motor Company Customer Service / tracking
    • We have all read the stories about not being able to track orders or get information about our trucks. Going through the process to completion it's all true. They can't track a truck to save their lives which is so stressful if you're like me and didn't have a vehicle. Ford has a lot of cleaning up to do if ordering vehicles is the wave of the future.

Things I was worried about and outcomes:
  • Screen
    • See above
  • Bed length
    • Not really using a truck bed at this length before I was worried it wouldn't hold up to my needs. Let me just say I've already hauled a washer/dryer, smoker, gravel, and fishing supplies without any hiccups.
  • Seat comfort
    • See above, also never sat my fat ass in a lariat trim maverick before ordering.
  • Review mirror at night
    • Wasn't sure how much blinding light I would get in the truck when driving at night. So far it's pretty low key mostly due to the drive height from my Mazda 3 to the maverick.

All in all this Truck is F#%king Awesome. It's comfortable for long hauls, lets me do truck stuff while getting great gas milage. I would recommend this to anyone. If you have any questions or want to know anything let me know, happy to share.

100% with you on your overall assessment of the Maverick. Mine drives better than my 2019 Escape SE did (4WD, 1.5 Eb), has half again as much power as the Escape (250 vs. 170), but still gets better gas mileage despite my driving is currently 80% city. We'll see where that goes once the school year is over and I can do some traveling. (I'm not a teacher, per se, but an historic tour guide for 4th graders visiting Sacramento with the Capitol, Railroad Museum, Sutter's Fort, etc.) Really love my Maverick.

Only a week in, picking up Blue (aka The Tardis...looks Tardis Blue to me) last Sat (4/29) after 18 months, but very happy. My one nit-pick would be why do the seats move forward, when raising them? - I'm over 6-2, and like to sit higher.

Drives fantastic, and quieter than my Outback. Nearly as peppy too, had the 3.6R, and loads of room. My commutes home are 60+ mpg, per the dash....still on the first tank of gas. Should hit 700 miles on this tank.

So far I've tried soap and water. since it's at my head I don't really notice it. But I will give a shot at some other things.
I have used Mr Eraser on many things and almost always works! Try it in a small inconspicuous place first. Don't want it rubbing out the color, or getting a stain. That said, I have never had it stain anything. Use it wet. Good luck!

The concern with it is that its basically really fine sandpaper.

I know this thing is amazing. My favorite was when I got 58 MPG one way on a 20 minute or so trip and figured it must have just been a lot of downhill and I'd pay for it on the way back but then ended up getting something like 63 going the other way. And then I try to think about what the "catch" is but the only things that come to mind are more miles between oil changes and not having to replace the brake pads probably ever. It just feels like I'm cheating.

I agree with your review; my wife and I love the truck . The one thing that I can add is the ability to tow the truck behind our Class A motorhome. It's a great vehicle to tow.

I should be getting my Maverick Hybrid Lariat 5/5. Thank you for the review. For the ink on your seat, I recommend you try using, Mr Clean Magic eraser. It was the only thing that worked for me when I has ink from a broken pen on multiple surfaces. Of course, do a small test spot first. Congratulations on your New Maverick.
Also you might try alcohol with a small soft rag on a out of the way test spot...........that usually dissolves felt tip damage for me .................

You could be right. I know I would not try it unless first trying it somewhere out of sight. The materials on our interiors seems really thin and cheap. I have used it on interior and exterior painted doors and no issues. But I do go very light and always use it moist. I don't recall ever using eraser on vinyl type materials. I have XLT, so fabric for me, is the Lariat a type of fake leather?

Thanks for the help! I did a bit of research and it is actually called "Active-X. Made from recycled plastic bottles. Not sure still what a person could clean that with. Here is a link:

https://www.capitalone.com/cars/lea...r/what-is-fords-activex-seating-material/2236

Pretty interesting. Wonder how much it actually cost to manufacture and put into a vehicle vs leather?
I just wipe it down with a wet wipe or wet paper towel. It doesn't absorb water that I can tell. Like the day I got it honestly. Even with a 6-to-8 year old riding in a booster seat. They held up great through tons of drops snacks, water bottles and juice pouches.
