Let me start off by saying if you're still waiting for a Maverick hold on, it will be totally worth it in the end. As a new Maverick owner I can't say how much I love driving this truck and doing truck stuff with it. I ordered a lariat hybrid from Pacifico Ford in Philadelphia and was one of a lucky few to get my order built. I picked up my truck on April 8 and have put a lil over 1,400 miles on it so far. I have done a road trip down to Charlotte NC that put on a good bit of miles off the bat.

Pros:
  • Fuel Milage
    • I am averaging around 41 ish mpg in both City and Highway roughly 60 40 split. I saw people getting great mileage but was weary that my driving style wouldn't be as good. However, 41 is awesome.
  • Seats
    • The seats on the lariat trim are so comfy. Everyone who has been in the truck (front and back) has only but positive things to say about it. The Brown Active X material looks and feels great.
  • Screen
    • After seeing the reviews and everyone talking about the screen, I think it's perfect. The screen is bright, and easy to manage while driving and Apple car play hasn't been an issue what so ever.
  • Adaptive Cruise control
    • Being able to take a road trip and the truck doing most of the driving is one of the greatest things I have ever done. It only makes me want full self driving down the road.
  • Paint Color
    • I love the Cactus Grey depending on the light it shows more green hues or grey. It is so different than what I'm used to and I love it.
  • Handling
    • This rides like a dream, on the highway its quite, in the city its quite, it takes bumps like a champ and is a fun truck to drive. I haven't had any issues passing people on the highway.
  • Duluth Trading dog cover
    • This fits perfectly and looks good in the back seat with the brown interior. (See picture)

Cons:
  • Slight pull/ out of balance issue
    • I have a slight pull, out of balance issue with one the wheels that I am trying to figure out. Could be from a pump in the road, it's not major and It seems that I'm the only one who notices it so far. So it could be my brain playing tricks on me? More to come in the next few days.
  • Quality issues
    • I attached an image of the head rest that looks like someone used a pen on it and missed the paper. While not a huge deal was kind of a bummer to notice it after I left the dealer. Also the front hood has unequal gaps on the left and right fenders. Again, not a huge deal breaker but it's the little things right?
  • Ford Motor Company Customer Service / tracking
    • We have all read the stories about not being able to track orders or get information about our trucks. Going through the process to completion it's all true. They can't track a truck to save their lives which is so stressful if you're like me and didn't have a vehicle. Ford has a lot of cleaning up to do if ordering vehicles is the wave of the future.

Things I was worried about and outcomes:
  • Screen
    • See above
  • Bed length
    • Not really using a truck bed at this length before I was worried it wouldn't hold up to my needs. Let me just say I've already hauled a washer/dryer, smoker, gravel, and fishing supplies without any hiccups.
  • Seat comfort
    • See above, also never sat my fat ass in a lariat trim maverick before ordering.
  • Review mirror at night
    • Wasn't sure how much blinding light I would get in the truck when driving at night. So far it's pretty low key mostly due to the drive height from my Mazda 3 to the maverick.

All in all this Truck is F#%king Awesome. It's comfortable for long hauls, lets me do truck stuff while getting great gas milage. I would recommend this to anyone. If you have any questions or want to know anything let me know, happy to share.

Austin, I see you've got your fishing rods on the bed deck. I had mine there, as well. I've snapped rod tips during fishing trips doing that, and decided I wasn't going to lay my rods in the bed, if I could help it. I purchased a Portarod System with three rod holders. You can get additional holders if you need them. I can at least use it on nice days when I head out fishing with the tonneau pulled back. I'm a fair-weather fisherman, so that's most times. Just an idea for you.:)

I like it. Nice set up. I have to look into or making something with the flexed spots.

I bet bar keepers friend or powdered tide and hot water would get the pen mark off.

I got a larger mirror to clip onto mine, it has a blue tint. I like it a lot. They make it without the blue tint but I can't attest to it. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08LVV21GP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Might want to try some Murphy's Oil Soap on the headrest. I've found it cleans stains and pen marks off the WHITE interior of our Tesla pretty easily. From what I know of Ford's interior materials they hold up pretty well and surely have been tested against all the stuff people put in their hair (dye, relaxer, etc... ) Windex, slightly diluted, is another option, but I'd try the Murphy's first. The oil & sodium hydroxide both clean and condition (when used on real leather). The oil is kinda perfect for loosening up ink.

Lovely review! Yes you can get superb mileage just putting it in drive and go.

About the tire tracking, even with my all terrain tires on my hybrid if I let off the wheel it would drive straight for a good while. I would have a reputable dealer look into it for you.

How long are your fishing poles? I have a large tent and am confident it will fit, but would love some assurance. Tent is 68 inches long in the bag.

It really is a great little truck. Sure it’s not going to haul what an F150 can but has been great for mulch, plants, lumber and a lot more.

One suggestion on the screen. I thought it looked cheap, but simply setting the theme to dark mode all the time, which is Ford Blue really made a difference to me.

Enjoy!

For the suspected ink on the headrest, I would not use any abrasive cleaners like bar keepers friend or magic eraser. You just need a mild solvent. Take a microfiber with some isopropyl alcohol (aka Rubbing Alchohol) and test a small spot of the ActiveX. I doubt it will affect the ActiveX, but better to be safe. I have found a 90+% isopropyl takes off sharpie, gel ink, or ball point very easily. Acetone is stronger, but I'd avoid that on the ActiveX unless nothing else works. Oil soap might also work but I'd be careful with it as well. The sodium hydroxide in there can be quite strong.

Wasn't that I thought it was cheap people were saying it wasn't up to best screen standards. I don't see that, its way better than the pioneer head unit I had in my Mazda 3
