Ask anyone that's purchased anything or has been in a relationship how relevant "initial quality" is.
Does that mean that if you can make it out of the dealers parking lot before your new car breaks then the model moves up the list?😆
I am more concerned about how my car holds up after the warranty expires.

Ah, the intersection of expectations vs reality, human behavior, and manufacturing build quality. So much input into this kind of data it's too hard to suss out conclusions

That's why the Initial Quality ranking is sort of BS. It's only the first 90 days of ownership.

In my first month of ownership: lots of rattles inside, the tail light won't stay in its little clips on the side, it keeps popping out, and I think the alignment is off. The "quality" of the door panels is laughable, they scratch if you touch them.

If Toyota comes out with a true rival, meaning a hybrid powertrain with excellent gas mileage, then I would move to the Toyota.

I think people see these Mavericks through rose colored glasses because they are relatively well priced, and have good fuel economy. No one would put up with the blatant lack of quality if they were not the least expensive truck.

Me and my friend beat the hell out of his dads 1986 Mazda B2000 when we were kids. That thing took whatever we could throw at it. There is NO WAY this Maverick could stand that kind of abuse. I feel like I need to baby the truck everywhere I go.

I realize that a report of "1" is only anecdotal at best BUT, since My truck is the Only one that's important to my Survey, that's the single Report that I find meaningful.
2.0-AWD..15 months old...at 700 miles the Dealership replaced all four Continental Tires...that is a Tire problem not a truck problem. It has been back to the Dealer ONE time and that was for the first service. This little truck has averaged 28 MPG for the first 9,400 miles and that is with Many blasts to the 108 MPH Limiter.
I also have a 1999 Ranger that I bought new. It is the 3.0, 5 Speed model. It is soon to be 25 years old and has $600 spent on it for it's entire service life. [new clutch]. I won't live to get 25 years of service out of my Maverick, but hopefully somebody will.
