I paid about $37K in 2023 MY 24 and I thought it was overpriced by a lot then considering the quality of the inside materials and the dash. Family members that ride in it say....hey it has leather at least and I have to tell them...well not really. As long as no one touches the plastic inside it won't scratch.
My dog would have the inside trashed in probably three minutes. He loves climbing up and looking out the windows and barking and going crazy when something catches his attention.

If you are worried about a price increase then either wait or go to your local dealer and buy a 2025 off the lot Our local dealer has several and discounts around $1000 below MSRP

According to mama google search, the Maverick earns the distinction of being the least American made pickup sold in America. And the exact quote is that only 26% of the parts for the Maverick are made in the USA and CANADA. They count Canadian made parts in that 26%. The Hybrid's engine is made in Mexico BTW.

The Maverick is gonna get the full brunt of tariffs. And the Maverick is Ford's LEAST EXPENSIVE new vehicle sold in America. It's wishful thinking to believe Ford takes a haircut - of any amount - on it's least expensive product. Maybe they take a hit on the $50,000+ trucks, but not on the ones 1/2 that price.

Additionally - there isn't really any competition to consider with the Maverick. What else are you going to buy if looking for a small pick up truck? The odd looking Santa Fe is the only real alternative - and it's already thousands more and cannot be had in hybrid. MOST of the time when people on this forum decide to buy something different - it's the Ford Ranger (which will also go up in price, Half the parts come from somewhere else). That's fine with Ford.
I'll believe it when I see it.

That just means it may be a little less than the tariff rate based on parts origin. However the tariff costs are passed on to the consumer. With the profit margin on the Maverick I don't see how Ford cannot pass on the tariffs amounts to the end consumer. Someone has to eat the additional costs and I don't forsee Ford opening up their pocketbooks.
Ford's been eating the additional costs for the losing line of EVs - $3-5B a year for the last 4 or 5 years - what's a few hundred million for them to cover the tariffs for a while?

Lol you think ford is going to just eat a 25% cost increase..it will be passed to the consumer.
Nothing is going to be as linear as a 25% tariff across the board, nor will a manufacturer pass the entire increase onto the consumer.

What's the time frame before the Canadian and Mexcian tariffs hit. Since most Mavericks have parts from those countries and are built in Mexico do the tariffs take effect on every vehicle now before it crosses the border? That would make a 40K Maverick $50K and a bad buy. Ford is going to be hit hard with the tariffs, 1.5 Ecoboost replacements and on going V6 ecoboost lawsuits. Not a good time to own their stock probably.
STOP ALREADY!!! Nobody knows how this negotiation strategy will play out, and nobody knows how much of any given tariff will be absorbed by the importer and how much will go to increased prices. I suggest people stop listening to news reporters whose mission is to create drama and let this run its course.

That 3-4 billion is taking infrastructure costs and applying them as a loss per vehicle. They are real losses, but I don’t like applying them like that as they are infrastructure investments, and applying them to the revenue of a vehicle is silly.

Per EV only, Ford makes a profit.

LOL. You think Ford will let the Maverick line die? No. Let's be patient and see how this plays out.

There’s a very simple solution to this. Make them here in the USA.

Yep, just pick up the Hermosillo plant and drop it in Nogales just across the boarder. Very simple process to accomplish, I bet they can do it in 4-6 weeks.

I'm posting this at 8am PST on Monday 2/3: "Trump says he will pause tariffs on Mexico." [The tariff was supposed to go into effect on Tuesday 2/4]. It is still a parlor game as to what the implication of this are for 2025 Mav prices.
