I understand that Ford is advertising that price will not increase for the Lariat trim in 2026. That depends on how you do the analysis.

I own a 2025 Lariat that I purchased on 11-27-2024 at an MSRP of $41,785 as quoted on my order. The order was placed under Job 2 so that I received the trailer backup and hitch assist features. The truck was received several months later, and I have had no issues or regrets. My actual price paid was $39,551 under the A/Z Plan pricing.

The comparably equipped 2026 vehicle per the Long McArthur website is $43,385. That includes the spare tire and rear sliding window items deleted in 2026 as well as the moonroof, 4K towing, hard tonneau cover, and floor mats I ordered on my 2025 Lariat. Using those numbers, the 2026 MSRP upcharge vs. 2025 is 3.8%.

But that's based on August 2025 pricing compared to November 2024, or not quite a year's difference. Since Ford isn't fixing these prices for 2026, the year over year increase on an annualizd basis is therefore estimated to be 5.2%.

This also doesn't include some features on the 2025 Lariat that are not on the 2026. The console wireless charging pad, one touch power window roll-up, and rear seat fold-down armrest are those I have heard about. Not quite sure how you reflect these items in the price difference, but they should matter to cost and pricing or Ford wouldn't be deleting them.

5% inflation and shrink-flation as well, the way I see it...

On the LM site the price has gone up exactly $1000 more than my job 3 Lariat that was just built in early July with the same options. And of course the 2026 won't have the charging pad and auto up/down windows. Maybe the 2027 will take away the B&O or LED projectors lol.

Jeez, the auto up/down seems so petty to take away. How much could they possibly be saving per vehicle, $5?
Many decades ago, mid 1960s, I worked at an assembly plant in Michigan. We had a program that awarded the employee for an idea that would save the company money. The highest award was $5,000.00 and a choice of a new Ford LTD or Mercury Monterey, base vehicles. If (Big if) the idea saved $5.00 per vehicle.

ABC

always be cost cutting by nickel-and-diming the customer and taking away simple features on your highest trims.

At $5 per vehicle and using 2024 sales that would come to $786,725. But yes, it's a hollow statement to say the price hasn't gone up but you have decontented the vehicle.

Yep, car manufacturers know the best way to keep customers, which is always cheaper than getting new customers, is to screw them over every chance they get. That is why they build junk vehicles to keep the sheep coming back to buy more. Business 101, screw the customer every chance you get and they will be loyal customers for life.
I'm sure they have rooms of shitty MBA's just frothing at the mouth to give the brand a good boeing.

Ford listened to all the bitching about cost so they did what they could to reduce costs. Once the tariffs kick in prices will increase.
Tariffs?
What are these tariffs that you speak of?
Please share.

I think it's more like the "switch and bait" if you like some of the items on the 2025's you can get them, but it will cost you!

You should start a car company and show them how it's done. What the H is a "boeing"?
Why, you need to be convinced that removing features from a previous years luxury trim is shitty?

Look up the hit Boeing's reputation took the last couple years due to rounds of c-suite cost cutting efforts.

Boeing has damaged their reputation by focusing on profits, not long term stability and growth with quality control. It's a dangerous, dangerous path for any company. If Boeing wasn't so big to begin with, and so entwined with government contracts, they'd be done already.
