Hello, my 1st post. I ordered a Hybrid Lariat Lux 10-23-2021. I spoke with my dealer today and I have a build date for 10/24. I asked about pricing and my truck is showing $2710 more on the preview order. Has this happened to anyone else and did they have to pay the increase? I’m guessing that’s the 2022 price increase but I ordered before 12/1/21. The dealer says they sell at MSRP so whatever Ford puts on my window sticker is what I pay..BTW.. Hot Pepper Red😁

Search price protection.

Bottom line, the dealer pays the original factory invoice pricing, not the higher price. But it depends on your agreement with the dealer and their honesty as to whether they charge you based on the original or new MSRP

as stated above, you should be price protected assuming your dealer is honest....my sticker showed higher price than I paid....

Not quite. The dealer pays the higher invoice price of when the vehicle is built. Then they sell you the truck and they have to file to get reimbursed by Ford. But because Ford has been taking their sweet time processing the reimbursements some dealers have been making buyers wait until they get the money from Ford and cutting a check then.

Thanks, I figured the dealer would work me over somehow. It’s a small town dealer with big brothers in bigger cities. I do not have price protection according to them so I need some documentation that they are paying the 2021 invoice price. If anyone has a copy or a link to an Official Ford communication stating the pre 12/1/21 orders will not encounter the price increase please send a copy or link. Honestly I’m starting to sour a little. No integrity left in the world so it seems.

Yes quite, the details aren’t relevant to the buyer unless the dealer wishes to refund the difference later instead of processing all the paperwork including taxes with the original price. The dealer pays the original invoice price - they’re first billed the higher invoice and then receive a credit to drop them back down to the original invoice.

It’s also supposed to be an automated credit so long as the buyer is a member of the same household that ordered the vehicle.

Call ford direct....the couple times I talked to them they were very helpful....not sure that has been everyone's experience but it was mine...
