So Birddog. Now that you have a 24 Maverick, what do you plan to add to it that is already not on your truck?
So far I have added...

Spray in bed liner
Tailgate assist
Center console organizer
Wireless Carlinkit 5.0 adapter

Next items will be...

Tailgate letters
Sill plate guards
Hard Tonneau Cover
Some way to do wireless phone charging

Still looking at the many hardcover tonneau options...can't decide...

One of these days I'm going to get around to doing this for wireless charging in my XL.

Raise prices= ok
Remove features= ok
Raise prices while removing features while not improving quality= bad business
Businesses will always raise prices. But it is not okay to lower the quality and/or quantity while doing so. Successful businesses and corporations know this.

The best tonneau covers are the ones from ford accessories. They are not cheap but well made and look good.

Ford has a tendency to give you a lot the first model year and the slowly take things away each model year or up charge you for them after that.
One example of going the opposite way, adding cruise control to the XL as standard starting in 2023….

Hahaha! Back in the day, that could have been marketed as an ashtray!
Remember the stir spoons for coffee at McDonald's? Never used one for coffee.

Yeah, because prices never increase on anything.
Every time they print more money it devalues the currency that's out there since we came off the gold standard. The so-called experts can say whatever they like but you can't make 2+1=2 and the value of the US dollar is based on how many dollars there are. Add in the supply issues from covid shutdown that have just recently come close to catching up to the backlogs and you get what we're seeing. On the positive side, seems most auto manufactures didn't seem to overly abuse the situation. The free market still works best: although we don't have 100% free market. I'd guess 20% of a vehicles' sticker price is meeting Government regulations, both safety and environmental.

This is typical behavior - remove items. I have a 2003 PT Cruiser. High demand vehicle sold over MSRP. Between inception as a 2001 and 2003, Chrysler removed dual horn, engine cover, rear sway bar. So I am not surprised Ford is following the industry practice.

When getting something new, it's easy to be spooked by negative reviews/comments. Considering this Maverick Truck Club membership is nearly 29,000 and assuming most members with issues share their unfortunate experience with us, I see this as a very high percentage of Mav owners being happy with their truck. I try to see all the issues posted here as good information to watch for when mine arrives, but I don't assume I will have those issues. That's me though... don't worry, be happy, but be prepared.
Very well stated.....

Unfortunately, Ford has really only de-contented the Maverick from 22 to 24.
Except they added cruise control to base model, making it much much more livable.
