That’s great!

It’s weird seeing the regular small bales now. Only a few farmers around my area still have the working equipment to do that.

Most make the big rectangular bales or the round ones like you hauled.

I’m surprised that bale only weighs 8-900lbs. Didn’t small bales average 70lbs?

yep, good average

Funny just this Sunday, I was wondering if a large roll would fit in my Maverick. But, changed from Cattle to Bee keeping two years ago on my ranch.
One less winter expense.
Did it fit between the wheel wells? Or on top?

Yes and no the bale was soft enough to fold over the it kept it from moving around. Also there was still about 2-3 inches on either side of the bed rails. So rolling it out was easy.

How did they load it at the feed store just roll or forklift? Scared to have them use a lift myself. Truck being so much shorter/ smaller would think the load would block the lift drivers view on the lower side.
To be fair forklift drivers almost pinned me in a warehouse job once as they drifted the unit turning it so quickly, so lack trust overall.

If anyone was wondering if you could haul a round bale of costal hay in a maverick. You definitely can. 😂

Just needed a few ratchet straps but made it home safely.

Any time I see people with round bales, I always assume they're horse people. If you have horses, I want pictures! Also have a great fondness for Texas Longhorn cattle. Family raised them in NC back in the day.

Pretty much confirms the Maverick IS a truck! Not that I was questioning it.

Love the longhorns, not as dangerous as it would seem. Short horn cattle use them horns. Longhorns take a while to turn their heads you can make them angle low and hit the ground most of the times to avoid the horns.
My dog loved to pester the younger longhorns and have them tangle themselves up in bush or bang the horns in the ground by the horns.

Finding pics of my favorite calf born near Valentine’s Day with a white heart on its forhead, half dairy calf/half longhorn.

This is why i joined the club , I forgot all about hooking the tailgate cable around the latch .
No I just ran a strap over the top down to the hitch. doing this snugged up the tailgate to the bale . The strap only touched the plastic cap on the tailgate.
same here on reasons for joining the MTC, there is much to be learned here.
i've had my '23 Mav since late April and the only time i can remember putting the tailgate in the halfway position was just right after delivery to see how it worked. retired now and never hauled much anyway but it's comforting to have all this extra functionality even if i rarely use it.
