I'm assuming this will affect both Hybrids and Ecoboosts? I do experience the occasional A-pillar rattle on the passenger side but it comes and goes. Maybe this has something to do with it? Lovely news....

Hahahaha. My car was almost as long of a wait as yours, I believe it took almost 3 years to get the Tamara airbag switched. Everytime I got my oil changed, “any air bags today?” “Nope, maybe next time!”Takata has been dead for years, they went belly up.
Hope this recall doesn't end up like one of my vehicles that had a Takata, it was 4 years after I received notice of the recall that a part was available. By that time I'd sold the car.
Is that why my A pillars have been rattling for the past 6 months?
We'll find out, I guess.
Visit 11 to the second dealer in 6 months next week...
For those who have rattling A pillars, what were your build dates?I'm assuming this will affect both Hybrids and Ecoboosts? I do experience the occasional A-pillar rattle on the passenger side but it comes and goes. Maybe this has something to do with it? Lovely news....![]()
Early to late October. There were a few weeks where it was showing as being built. For those who have rattling A pillars, what were your build dates?
As far as I knew the Maverick, Bronco [Sport], and Escape all share a common C2 platform. This is how/why so many parts are interchangeable between these models.Check this out...basically the same noise I get, but on a Bronco. Not even the same platform...
Ford builds and sells automobiles. They ARE responsible for specifying, qualifying, testing and inspection of its components. Be it bad steel, faulty tires, whatever.Ford doesn't make airbags, kind of hard to blame them, unless it's simply due to improper installation.
