I cant remember I think the front ones that held the cleats were 6MM x 1.25 thread pitch and the middle and aft ones were 8MM x I think 1.5 but could be 1.25 honestly I dont remember. I'm not a metric guy like I am an SAE guy.

Custom wheels or alloy wheels in general. I have had water get between rims and brake rotors and damn near corrode these parts together to where you cannot remove the wheel from the vehicle. I am installing custom wheels, however anybody installing aluminum wheels should do this.

Brush anti seize compound on the lug studs, and on the rotor mating flanges so if moisture gets between the rim flange and the rotor, you can still get them apart. My aftermarket rims use aluminum hubcentric rings. I buttered these up with permatex antiseize as well. Truck needs a 3" lowering job now to ditch the 4x4 look.

Rims are Circuit performance CP30 18x8.5 with a 35mm offset. Tires are 245-55R18. Same outer diameter as stock.

Hey just FYI I'm an not a pro, but have decent mechanical experience, and live with a true auto/semi mechanic, and we both agree DON'T put anti-seize on the wheel studs. You can stretch them, over torque, or they can come loose if you do. Put on the mating surface only.

Nothing new. I drained a little swill out of the one catch can that's plumbed in. As soon as I have time I will be plumbing the second catch can in. This working the whole month of december sucks. Light at the end of the tunnel is this saturday. After that I am gone until january 10th. I have a big to do list, and that second catch can is on it.

This thread is meant to chronicle the accessories I purchased for my Maverick, as well as the prices for each item, and ease of assembly or install. Also any items I may have fabricated. I am doing this because theres some folks on the forum who are not very mechanically inclined. The aim is to also show that a lot of this stuff is not very hard to do even for those who are not mechanically inclined.

Myself, I am a mechanic, and have been fixing, modifying, and fabricating things since my teens. I am 54. I am in the aviation industry as a sheetmetal structural repair technician, and also teach sheetmetal repair. I want to make each post geared towards the novice on the truck club who is not very mechanically inclined. For those of you who are mechanical you will probably appreciate the prices and where I got each item, or the method of fabrication. Theres lots to come. I have had this truck only 2 days.

Thanks for the kudos. I hope by chronicling everything I do here, that people checking it out will find something they like and want to add to their ride. Plus being able to help out newbies who want to do their own DIY. BTW I work as an Air carrier heavy check MTX mechanic

Woke up at 4:30 this morning to go for my morning run and get ready for work. Windy and 38° eh not so bad. I get to work and feel the temps dropping. By 8am its 11°F and has a windchill of negative 3°F. At this time I was rethinking me saying i didnt need the XLT lux pak in west Texas when I ordered this thing, and it delaying my order. That heated steering wheel and a heated seat would have been pretty nice to have right about now lol. The good thing is this engine does warm up and start pushing out heat pretty quickly.

When my wife got her Escape Titanium new in '21 I thought heated steering wheel was a gimmicky idea. But after Ive driven it several times in cold weather it's the best thing ever. It's probably better than the heated seats IMO. Obviously she loves it since she's always cold....haha. I'm glad I held off and waited on keeping my lux pkg on my maverick order......11 mos in and it's finally built and awaiting shipment.

I can live without a heated steering wheel but if I ever get my XL heated seats is a must do mod!
Priorities. Ass over hands anytime.

Bedrug XLT carpeted bed mat. About $225 from realtruck.com. This is held in place with peel and stick velcro. It comes with prep pads for the paint so the velcro sticks really well to the paint. It comes rolled up. Best to lay it in the sun for a few hours so it flattens out before install. Instructions for this are pretty easy. Install time is about 15-20 minutes. Bedrug also has an impact mat floor liner that is held in the same way.

I got a the mat free with Ford Pass points.

Merry Christmas!!
After today, I am finally off work thru January 9th after working straight thru from november 29th. It's been a ling couple of weeks. My mod posts will probably resume Dec 26-27 depending on the weather. It's in the teens and 20s here in west Texas. Should be back into the 50s and 60s by mid next week.
