Map app not displaying

I have had my 2023 XLT Hybrid for a little over a year. Absolutely love it. But recently my Map app on my iPhone is not linking up to my Maverick. My phone links up as I can call and receive calls. My Pandora app links up so I can listen via my truck audio. But my Map app is now now linking up. Anyone have a similar situation, or does anyone have a recommendation as to what I should do.

When I check my settings on the iPhone, the Bluetooth shows that my phone is linked. So I am at a loss as to what to do. For over a year it worked just fine.

Are you talking about the Apple Map app? Also have you recently had the Ford 23P18 recall done or updated your iPhone to their lasted update?
I had a similar problem, The Apple Map app would show up in Apple Car Play on the Maverick screen, but would not work. After a few days of trying, finally doing a hard reset on the Maverick screen (Power off/FForward?) and also rebooting my iPhone 12, the app would work, But no audio directions etc. A youtube video showed me that the app has audio controls on the app screen, right side near top, and it showed that the app audio was muted. It now works as it should.

The problem ??? Two different computer systems Ford and Apple), both with updates and now trying to play nicely together all with the help of a human, ME, who has very limited computer skills and takes a lot of learning the new systems.

Definitely try this Also make sure the phone, the app and the truck's infotainment system are running the latest updates.

If no better, try a different map app.

Is it possible Carplay isn't working, but the phone is still pairing with the radio, hence why the phone can still take calls, etc?

I don't have an I-Phone, but my Pixel phone can pair with my radio and I can take calls without Andoid Auto being connected. Without AA my Google Maps would never work.

There was some sort of over the air update for the radio that went out 6 weeks ago. The update in my truck failed and it had been acting flakey ever since. XM not working right, sometimes locked up on a black screen, sometimes backup camera locked on even when in drive. The truck just went to the dealer today and they updated the radio software and the body control module software under warranty and I got a free loaner vehicle brand new Edge with 111 miles.... All seems good now.

My Google map app also stopped linking to my Maverick. The dealership wasn't able to resolve it. What a bummer.

Apps that use Apple CarPlay and Android Auto have to be in the approved list of apps that can be forwarded to the vehicle. If its not listed, it won't show. I assume that the phone update changed that list.

Are you connecting your phone to the truck using a cable? That's the only way it will work, unless you buy a wireless adapter.

Otherwise, about all you can do is phone communications and play music.

My wife and I finally got everything working right!! It took doing the master reset after it finally allowed me to get to it.
